Went there for a cream tea. From where I sat I could have a clear view of the kitchen. The staff is mainly girls in their 20ies and seemed very friendly to each other, they where having a bit of banter! Which I like to see because it meant they were having fun at work. The problem started at "selfietime". A... More

We went there for a couple of nights and stayed in a "garden room". On line it looked great. However, the room was not clean. Dust on the headboard, window sill and bin in bathroom. I don't think the mattress had ever been vacuumed and we could see hair under the sheets. The shower leaked making the floor wet. The... More

Just spent 3 nights in Sencha, one of the garden rooms.Light and bright and clean. not the largest room but well-equipped and maximised the use of space available. French doors opened straight onto small shared garden. Small table and chairs right outside to enjoy quiet drink before or after dinner. We also made use of the larger table and chairs... More

We only stayed one night but the room in the garden annex was clean and comfortable. Ideally situated close to the centre of Brockenhurst with excellent parking which was very useful. The inclusive breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The "Cottage" & grounds looked tired and in need of some TLC but this did not detract from our overall... More

Dropped in for afternoon tea on Saturday how refreshing to get good food and good service in one go - very rare these days. Staff were obliging and the food was fresh and ample at a fair price too. We will be booking a stay soon and would recommend to anyone looking for something a bit special.

We have just returned after a 3 night stay. The cottage is beautiful. Very old, pretty and quirky. We stayed in one of the garden rooms (Lady Grey). It was very comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space, nice view over the garden. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate in plentiful supply. The bathroom was spacious with a very good shower and everything... More

We had a wonderful stay at this delightful property. We stayed for 2 nights in 2 different rooms as each one was only available for one night, both of which were in the main cottage. Everything was excellent - the owner and the girls serving breakfast/manning the desk were very polished, the room was traditional but not tired and the... More

We stayed here in May given its fantastic location to the New Forest as well as the village of Brockenhurst. The cottage has charm, while the outside coffee area, restaurant and grounds are well maintained. The rooms and gardens towards the back are pretty and clean. We stayed in the Camomile room, which was presentable and clean. The shower and... More

We stayed from the Friday night for three nights and enjoyed our time at the Thatched Cottage. The owners are very receptive and are making every effort to offer an enjoyable experience to their guests. The staff were very helpful and made sure that any queries we did have were dealt with straight away. The breakfast was delicious and enjoying... More
