A group of 13 staging a college reunion stayed here at the end of September 2014. We had a room, breakfast and evening meal arrangement which was excellent value. I cannot fault the breakfast or evening meals over 2 nights as the food arrived promptly, was well cooked, and the house wine (red and white) was good quality and value.... More

Back in the early 1980s this was perhaps a very acceptable place to stay. Sadly, little has changed since then and the Watersplash looks tired and worn out. My room smelled of damp, so it may not have been used for a while, while the furniture looked at least 25 years old. The shower was small but worked perfectly well.... More

We dropped on this hotel later in the day so just took it for fear of not finding anywhere. Unfortunately I wish we had continued looking. - It has a feel of an old nursing home. - The front gate is broken (which isn't a good start! ). - The bed looked like it was made by a 5 year... More

We have just returned after a two night stay in this hotel, it is disgusting, dirty smelly, needs decorating, would never stay here again. Had hair in my scrambled egg a long black hair and I am blonde,

A hotel in the heart of Brockenhurst with character, good food, nice staff, clean room, pet and child friendly as well. A well stocked bar and pleasant grounds including the secret garden and open air pool. Two very enjoyable nights stay at a price that in high season in this very popular location, didn't break the bank. It may be... More

This is our second trip to the Watersplash. We've stayed in lots of New Forest hotels and this is very reasonably priced for the central village location. The owner and staff are all welcoming and friendly. The bar area is warm and inviting. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of cereals, juices and toast, then an excellent array of hot food.... More

Just got back from a one night stay in this hotel. The negative was the decor etc was extremly dated but in a weird way it did add to the charm. All of the staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable, hotel is dog friendly, wholesome food and the shower had good power. Finally it was set in the beautiful... More

It's hard to find anything good to say about this hotel, I would hazard to say this is quite possibly the worst hotal I have ever stayed in, anywhere. The hotels website totally oversells itself - make no mistake this is a 2-star hotel, and a poor one at that. As has been commented in other reviews - the staff... More

Fawlty Towers without the humour. We stayed there over the weekend. The hotel needs a lot of work, it is very outdated, dirty and old. There was a strong smell of a combination of dust and wet dog. We asked for a family room and they gave us two twin rooms, but there were not connected. The girl at reception... More

Just got back from our first visit to the secret garden in brockenhurst. My birthday was on friday so it was a special treat for me. My husband and I had the high tea, which stated was a selection of sandwiches crumpets and cream tea with cakes. Sounded lovely. Waited a while for one of the young girls to take... More
