Hotel stuck in the '70s. Basic room. Needed to ask for towels. TV and radio did not work. Food poor quality - small portions, lukewarm, full menu selection not available. more

Eight friends stayed here and although the hotel is a little tired this was more than compensated for by the warm welcome we received from owner Robin and his staff. The food was excellent and one vegetarian friend was asked to meet with the chef to discuss her requirements. We would definitely stay here again. more

For £120 per night, this is a very out dated hotel and it was like staying in an old b&b. The room stunk of perfume to disguise the musty smell and there was the most ancient wall mounted radio that did not work. Very expensive for what it is. Deffinately would not be staying there again- not good value for... more

I had a lovely stay at this New Forest hotel, ideally located next to the forest for walking - dogs are made welcome in the hotel. The room was well equipped, the bathroom was newly fitted and there was loads of hot water. I slept like a log despite the overnight storms. There was a fire in the bar and... more

Unfortunately we did not read other reviews on this website before booking the Watersplash for the weekend to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The first room we were shown into was reminiscent of a grotty 70's B&B - absolutely filthy and stinking of years of sweat and grime. We complained and were moved to a slightly cleaner room, although the... more

We had to stay here. The hotel we booked was overbooked and we were transfered to this dated hotel. There was a tea making facility set in the room, however all covered with full of dust, wall paper is half ripped off, a lots of dead flowers in the garden. Yes there is a swiming pool, but only their staff... more

Very strange hotel - the bedroom you enter by the sink area, the two different cleaners cleaning my room on the same day, the waiter whisking my plate away whilst I was still eating food off it at breakfast, the bobby trapped iron that smeared scale all over my white shirt, and on... more

Totally agree with your reviewer of last weekend. We stayed there last July for a weekend; it was the place that my late father-in-law had been going to for about ten years and had recommended it - "they were always very helpful to him". So, we thought as a valued guest who had only fairly recently passed on we could... more

Had to stay here as my favourite hotel in Brockenhurst was full. The Watersplash obviously hadn't been decorated in 30 years. The wardrobe in our bedroom was a cheap plastic veneer flat pack that looked as if it might collapse at any moment. The roon was dingy and dark, the decor was tired, dirty and dated. The swimming pool was... more
