An absolutely first class hotel in idyllic surroundings. We visited recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary and found all aspects of this hotel to be first class. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to help. Food in the Restaurant is very good and the breakfast buffet also has plenty of choice. The location is peaceful... More

Wonderful feel to this establishment with very friendly attentive staff. Food was good, but not exceptional surprisingly ... The ambience created was very special. Loved the chill out areas, drawing room etc.

This was a treat to come & eat at The Pig from my son & his girlfriend as it's their favourite place . I had no problem at all with the food & service apart from slight wine spillage on the table ! Unfortunately I was on the loo an hour after I got home for the next 3 hours.... More

My husband and I have just returned from the most wonderful weekend at The Pig. It wasn't perfect but the staff try hard to make it so (thanks to Harry in the restaurant in particular) and the atmosphere is so relaxed and the environment so quirkily fantastic that the stress just melts away. We stayed in a hideaway room, Tamworth,... More

We go to Brockenhurst every year for a weeks' break and we always make sure that we have at least one meal (preferably two - one at lunch time, and one in the evening) at The Pig at Brockenhurst. The hotel itself is amazing - full of quirky features like the wellington boots lined up in the hall, to the... More

Lunch at the Pig was a 'memorable' experience! The location is beautiful as is the building. we walked through to the conservatory filled with pot plants and miss matched tables and chairs which was very busy with lunch diners. We hadn't booked after all it advertises itself as a 'pub with rooms', and there were empty tables. we asked for... More

The Pig is absolutely beautiful; lovely gardens with plenty of places to sit and admire the view (with martini in hand!). The building itself is stunning and has been decorated to a very high standard; lots of character and many comfy chairs. We had a 'snug' room, so the expectation was that it would be on the smaller side. The... More

My husband and I travelled to The Pig for 2 nights for our 2nd wedding anniversary staying in a comfy room. We both love good food and so were excited about the ' restaurant with rooms concept'. We booked in the restaurant for both nights and its a good job we did as it was busy both nights (which we... More

Lovely family celebration meal served outside on a lovely balmy summers evening, food great service ok, all young which is fine but needs a bit of control and direction, at times felt forgotten especially when trying to pay. I do begrudge the bill including "12.5% Discretionary service charge" I would always round up a bill about that much on any... More

A group of 8 of us went for a Sunday lunch at the Pig. The staff were incredibly friendly and the service was exemplary. The food was incredible, one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The staff really went the extra mile given that we were celebrating three birthdays in our group. They reserved a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pig is the baby sister of Lime Wood – with a little attitude! It is a bang up to date take on a new style of home grown, 26 bedroom country house hotel and what that needs to be today - original, relaxed and sitting comfortably within its environment.......It’s really a restaurant with rooms. This is a place that is all about the walled garden.... everything is driven by the gardener/forager and chef – they grow and find the food – the chef then makes the menu. Our style is home grown in every way – breaking the mold of designed hotels, daring to be comfortable in its own skin, working with what it has and recognising what is good about that. It won’t be perfect, it will be warm, relaxed, comfy, interesting, and homely with muted colours, a bit shabby chic and evolved rather than interior designed. ... more   less
