Just returned from a perfect weekend break to this wonderful hidden gem. My partner had origionally booked us into New Park Manor but the room was really rather appalling and stank of cigarette smoke (the butts on the window sill explained why!) yet the rather apathetic manager claimed he could do nothing to help us, so we were left with... more

We decided to have a visit to the New Forest for a little weekend break. After a bit of internet searching stumbled across Whitley Ridge. Wow - lucky us!!!!!! The location is stunning and you instantly get a sense of peace. Just what we wanted. We stayed for 2 nights which is probably enough - I don't think we could... more

At Christmas 2008 we took our elderley fathers with us to spend four nights at Whitley Ridge - a place we've stayed at before and loved without reservation. We cannot fault the service, the accommodation (after all, we chose the room we have always stayed in) nor the excellent cuisine, and the hotel looked beautiful in its Christmas decorations. However,... more

Given one or two negative reviews on here, let's get the bad points out the way first. The rooms are quite small, ours was modestly sized but I know was one of the largest. It can be a little noisy. It is an old house so sound proofing is limited. You may well hear the comings and goings of other... more

Having read some reviews of Whitley Ridge on here, I was unsure what to make of it. Seemed like a few very mixed reviews, but in the main it looked good so I took the plunge. In terms of location, Whitley Ridge is right where you need to be for touring about the New Forest. Everything is a short drive... more

We stayed in Whitley Ridge Hotel for one night for our wedding anniversary. The hotel is beautiful, the decor is calm and relaxing and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. We stayed in one of the rooms in the new part of the hotel and I was worried it wouldn't have the character of some of the original rooms, but... more

There is no doubt that the food at this hotel is superb - I would rate it in the top 5 places I have ever eaten at. The restaurant staff are very good and attentive. Our stay (two nights) was let down by the room. I had paid for a room upgrade and was expecting something quite special. The room... more

My partner and I stayed one night on a dinner bed and breakfast late booking deal. Wonderful setting, rooms were very nice and furnished to a very high standard. Dinner at Le Poussin restaurant in the hotel was good but was understandably biased towards New Forest game, venison, rabbit which is a bit too heavy for us. Wine started at... more

Arrived at the hotel and taken immediatly up to our room to check in, maybe the receptionist could have explained this, but still very efficient and very personal. I have to say that this room wasn't the best, at reception a little later great concerns but no fuss over our concerns with the mangement offering us a different room immediatly.... more

My wife and I stayed at Whitley Ridge for one night in mid-July ’08. We are both well travelled world-wide. We were staying with friends in the Southampton area for the weekend and fancied a romantic night away just the two of us. Whitley Ridge was perfect. We negotiated a very good room only rate and decided to stay for... more
