Myself and my partner were booked to stay here for one night after a wedding. We found the hotel online and it seemed cheaper than others (though still £90 for one night) so went for it. The reception staff were very helpful on the phone and arrival as we needed to book in early. We came back at around 11pm... More

21 of us booked for lunch on easter monday and were extremely impressed. The hotel is being refurbished and is starting to look really good. We ate in a lovely light room overlooking the gardens. The service was good and efficient and the food was delicious. I think the new owner is set to put the forest park back on... More

Our selves and another family booked in for a two night stay Thursday 17th @ Good Friday the 18th April. We were a party of 7 in total, ages; 2 dad's early 60's two ladies 48 & 50 and 2 teens and a 21 year old + our trusty West Highland terrier Cooper. We arrived Thursday around 4.00pm and as... More

We had a voucher for afternoon tea and we decided to go while the sun was shining. My husband is in a wheelchair and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, putting out the ramps to get in and looking after us. However, although we had booked, we were told that the lounge was full and we had to go... More

We chose to eat in the garden on a quiet Sunday lunch. Service was attentive though our meals took 40 mins to arrive then only two came with the other three 30 mins later, one of which was incorrect. The main courses were acceptable. We selected an Eton mess and Panna Cotta for desert, again these took over half an... More

We spent one night at the Forest Park, we hadn't booked a room and called in on the off chance. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist who quickly sorted out a room for us. The hotel doesn't look much from the outside, could do with some hanging baskets to make it more attractive, and the décor is... More

We booked two rooms on a woucher deal which was fantastic value. After reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive about the ongoing work that was being done but when we arrived we were greeted by a really lovely receptionist that made us feel so welcome, it could not have been a better start to our break. We stayed... More

Before I go further I should say that we had a voucher deal for two night stay so paid about half the going rate. So no complaints from that point of view. The hotel has several things going for it including a lovely setting in the middle of the New Forest, very helpful staff and good food. However it is... More

Got voucher for afternoon tea. Lovely lounge and helpful staff. Loads of tea. Nice sandwiches and cake. Not masses of it but full up just the same! Lovely view of garden. Not much parking as carpark seemed to have work going on. Right in the forest

This is a perfectly OK hotel, but you get what you pay for. The location is very good for the New Forest and walks are available direct from the hotel. The restaurant is good but not very imaginative and the bar feels more like a saloon bar in an urban pub. The whole place desperately needs refurbishment and updating. But... More
