Well positioned within the new forest, nice setting across the road for short walks and only a 15 minute drive to the motor museum. Great for dogs, they're allowed into the pub, rooms and huge outdoors. Restaurant serves good food, but a little expensive. Big updates happening now, will be interesting to see what it's like next year.

The hotel has great potential and is currently under quite extensive renovation to bring it up to a modern standard. Having said that the room was large and comfortable, the hotel was spotlessly clean and the food was really good. Some ares just need a bit more updating, but I am sure it is all in hand. Nice gardens at... More

it is clear that this spacious hotel is under extensive renovation and it does need a decor update, normally i would be v disappointed with such a shabby interior but the peaceful location, pleasant welcome and very clean (everywhere) condition balanced this out. didn't eat here but enjoyed a drink served by friendly staff in the interesting bar which we would... Only stayed here for 1 night. It's fine for a place to sleep and get showered after a day exploring the new forest. Bed was comfy and rooms clean. Scaffolding up around building which I think was signs of an upgrade, which is needed. Pretty old fashioned curtains and peach walls. Cooked Breakfast was very good and staff all nice.

No-one told us about refurbishment when we booked so it came as a shock. Understandable, of course, as the hotel seriously does need refurbishment, but for what we paid for two nights plus our dog b & b (£285) we felt 'done'. On the plus side, we had two very good evening meals in the restaurant, staff a bit inexperienced... More

Have just come home from a two night stay at the forest park hotel. It is in the process of major refurbishment but did not affect us during our stay . All the staff were very pleasant and friendly and the food was excellent , rooms were very clean and spacious .Would certainly stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, found it very disappointing and expensive. our overall impression was of shabbiness, however our room was clean. Whist we realise there is extensive work going on externally but internally it was exceedingly shabby. The staff seemed friendly, but it seemed odd that in a three star hotel we had to collect our... We were looking for a quick coffee stop and stumbled across this hotel, didn't look very promising with the scaffolding. Loads of character inside, friendly staff made us feel welcome. Peaceful and relaxing garden. Food coming out looked lovely so we had a spot of lunch. Booked a table for the evening for dinner too. Evening meal - three courses,... More

Very large hotel, restaurant and bar at the edge of Brokenhurst being extensively refurbished from the roof down. We ate as a family with 2 very young children, in the bar rather than the restaurant as we also had a dog. Opening times are short only 7 to 9 pm. There were large, planted grounds behind the hotel with a... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last week. Yes it is under going a refurbishment but if you look beyond that then you will find a lovely hotel full of history, charm and period features. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious I had the lamb for... More
