We really like this location, and visit an average of twice a year. We couldn't fault the location, friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of accommodation and the site, and also the range of activities (unpaid in the area, and paid). We would class these cabins amongst the best accommodation in this area of the Trossachs. However, there are some things... More

I have stayed here a number of times and this visit was as perfect as ever. The day after arriving the snow fell and we were snowed in for two days. The Forest holidays team kept updating the road situation was the TV system and made excellent efforts to clear the snow on site The staff are very friendly and... More

We stayed here for a pre-Christmas break in December 2013. We stayed in a 2 bed Silver Birch cabin as it was the best that was available last minute. We had a few niggles with the interior of the cabin including the fact that the extractor above the cooker didn't work, the upstairs door didn't stay closed and the shower... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your Christmas 2013 break at Strathyre in a Silver Birch cabin. We hope you enjoyed your break in spite of the niggles you mentioned with your cabin and the unfortunate situation with the Forestry Commission paths being closed due to the previous week’s storms. Kind regards, Maria Vernon-Allen Customer... More

Just back from a mon-friday stay here. Staff are lovely as is the peroni in the retreat!! The cabin is modern, spotless and spacious. We were in a silver birch cabin. The dog was made to feel as welcome as anyone and was welcome everywhere we visited. There are miles of hills and railway paths to walk around so probably... More

Me and my boyfriend went on a 4 night trip and the cabin was very comfortable. The hot tub outside was brilliant! We were in cabin 15 (silver brich) which looked into the main road through the site which lacked a little bit of privacy with people walking past etc but very minor! The cabin was very cold and heaters... More

Thank you for your review following your recent break at Strathyre with your boyfriend. We are pleased you enjoyed your holiday, although concerned to hear that you were cold until the heaters picked up; we do apologise for this. We hope you will stay with us again in the future. Ours was a last minute booking so there wasn't a lot of availability for the type of cabin we wanted. As a couple the hideaway lodges would have been perfect but these seem to get booked up relatively quickly. As we wanted a hot tub and log burner we booked in to a Golden Oak with three rooms (the only... More

Thank you for taking time to write a review following your recent Forest Holidays break at Strathyre. We are delighted that you liked the location of your cabin, although concerned to hear that you weren’t quite warm enough downstairs. It sounds as if you had a friendly regular visitor and also managed to spot lots of other wildlife, which all... More

Just back from 3 night stay in Golden Oak lodge 16. Lodges are really clean and have everything you need. Despite the appalling weather we had a great stay and forest retreat was really handy for essentials and also used it to order papers and croissants for the morning. Hot tub is excellent , my husband especially loved it how... More

This is our 6th time visiting the forest and I must say the service whenever I had a question was excellent. Forest holidays should be so proud of the passionate people they have working for them! And the lip balm at reception is amazing you must buy some! Everything is local produce everything feels homely and cosy. All the cabins... More

Have just spent a long weekend here with friends. The place is fab and would highly recommend it to anyway looking to get away for a log cabin getaway. The facilities in the cabin were great especially the hot tub. The cabins are a 10 minute drive from Callender and about 20 minutes from Aberfoyle. Will definitely be back here... More

We visited last March and the location was beautiful. The glass fronted lodges give a breath taking view of Scotland's national parks. Plenty of walks around and about. Only 25mins drive to sterling for a day out and if you feel energetic you can walk to the local village Callander, about 4.5miles for a spot of lunch or a brew... More
