What a disappointment. The room we were given should be condemned. the bed was heavily stained, no mattrees protector. The pillows were even worse with blood and sweat thereon, yet again no protectors. The bed itself was a disgrace. The room was very cold with a small electric heater. The owner came to the room and stated he had no... More

Have spent a few weekends and the Old Rectory and can honestly say have never been disappointed - Family run yet again had a friendly welcome and hospitality. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean, fantastic food and huge choice at breakfast with a great continental selection and big portions on the cooked option. Local musicians play on a regular basis and... More

Stayed overnight at the weekend and were warmly welcomed, had a very good evening meal with generous portions, lovely spacious, spotless room with everything you could want which overlooking the river. Surprised to find the leave of attention to detail in this lovely wee hotel. Although we spent the evening in Callander we had drinks in the wee bar before... More

We spent Hogmanay here, just one night and very nice it was too, we had the evening dinner , 3 courses for £15 , ver good value, we have eaten here before, it costs more normally, entertainment was Karaoke, it wasn't to bad, not brilliant. The breakfast was excellent, warm fresh , plentiful and we presented very well.

Stayed with my son with a view to doing some hill walking in the Trossachs. Friendly staff, good hearty breakfast and everything we needed. Good location for walking into Callander or off into the hills.

Myself and my partner stayed here the day before valentines day this year as it was the only day we could both get off to have together. [So sorry for the late review]  My partner and I are a gay couple. We were greeted most warmly and shown to our room. It was a beautiful, simple double room with lots... More

We were only here for one night and were the only guests. Whilst there were no issues and we found the woman serving our drinks and meals very pleasant (we were not advised her name) - I do believe we could have been provided with more information regarding how to operate the shower when we were shown the room. We... More

Booked this place a year ago, did not know what to expect, arrived and thought it looked a bit in need of an update, then we saw our room and was really pleased. From then on everything was really great. Lovely food, both in the evening and breakfast. Really friendly people, great live music and real homely atmosphere.
