There seems to be a bit of a mix up in previous reviews between the Glengarry hotel and the Glengarry Castle hotel. I stayed in the Glengarry in Callander and found it very nice and peaceful. You feel like your pulling into a Merchant-Ivory film when approaching the hotel which is in a stately home on it's own grounds by the lake. we had a one night stay here and found it to be very pleasant. the owners are friendly and the breakfast was good and ample. the small lounge was good for a crack with locals which we enjoyed. it is a five minute walk to centre of town which means a very peaceful nights sleep. a good value for money.... more

have spent two years as passing trade at this hotel. there are four in our party and we always enjoy a hearty breakfast before travling on to the lake of mentiath. the food is first class and generous.We would recomed it to any body more

The room was nice though we experienced a few problems e.g I don't eat a cooked breakfast and was offered a bowl of cereal.
