We have just stayed at Monachyle Mhor for two nights on the recomendation of a friend. We couldn't bear to tear ouselves away from Scotland and it was worth the stay blow the cost. The young staff were very helpful efficient and human and took time to talk to us seniors, nothing seemed too much effort, everything was done with... more

Imagine our delight at arriving, after traveling a narrow, serpentine road that threatened to be interminable, at this welcoming pink stone farmhouse. Hungry, car-weary and chilled by the damp, we were revived by a cheery greeting from staff, black labs and border collie ; superb soup, slabs of lightly smoked salmon and just-picked salad greens; and the warmth of a... more

This is a laid back place where you can take the dogs for a walk on the hills if you fancy. After building up your appetite you can satisfy it on some of the best food to be found in Scotland. Oh yes and superb views whilst you dine or take breakfast. Bigger folk might find the smaller rooms a... more

Me and my fiance stayed here for 3 nights in November 2008. The room, location and staff were excellent. The real attraction though was the food, amazing! I can honestly say the best food I have ever eaten. The wines were also very good too. The staff including the head chef were also very welcoming and went out of their... more

The food is the star - no doubt ! We've stayed there three times over the past few years, for the food, the scenery and the walking, but the prices are on the high side, so we tend only to stay a night or so at a time if we are in the area. more

We recently stayed at Monachyle Mhor for four nights. We were celebrating a special occasion and booked into one of the two luxury suites with their own steam room. First impressions of the room were that it looked comfortable and stylish, without being over the top. As we spent more time there, we noticed that the quality of the design... more

We booked a two night stay here in December 2008 - securing a 10% discount on the original price plus the added bonus of a bottle of champage upon arrival. When we got there, we were offered an upgrade to the luxury suite for £40 - it was worth it! The room and separate bathroom (containing two individual baths and... more

We really enjoyed our short stay just before Christmas at the hotel. After a longish drive we arrived to a welcome of tea in the lounge in front of the fire. Dinner was wonderful and the breakfast good. Rooms were modern, both had flat screens and music systems. more

My girlfriend and myself stayed at MHOR for a couple of nights back in October of 2008 and loved it. It has been designed to be modern but also feel like a "home away from home". We loved the artwork on the walls and the way the designer has laid out the restaurant and the rooms in the hotel. After... more

Havng checked Trip Advisor as always, we were looking forward t to our stay here. Stunning location, don't really mind bad weather. Our room was disappointing, next to laundry overlooking agricultural buildings. Flimsy wardrobes that were hard to open, poor lighting, draughty windows. Food was ok but over a short stay items kept reappearing in a different course & do... more
