We stayed at the Monachyle Mhor for two nights. We shared a room with our adult son and friends had another double room. Each room appears to be very different. We had a corner room on the courtyard level with a separate bedroom and a table area while our friends had a upper level room with a wood burning stove... more

We received an enthusiastic and friendly welcome on arrival. As it was the start of December and we were arriving on a Sunday, the place was a little quieter than I think they normally are, and so benefited from being upgraded to a suite - this in part to make up for the fact there was no hot water available... more

We arrived excited and looking forward to spending a night at Monachyle Mhor in one of their 'luxury rooms' , booked especially because of the fire in the room. Reception was empty, we rang the bell and waited.........eventually 2 smiling faces arrived to welcome us. One very pleasant girl showed us to our rooms, nervously she avoided showing us how... more

This is the second time we've stayed and felt that things had improved since last time (not that last time was bad). We'd walked in over the mountains from Crianlarich and were muddy and tired. The receptionist was attentive, helpful and quickly go t us to our room where we found a complimentary bottle of fizzy. The room was in... more

We booked four nights in one of their luxury rooms to celebrate our honeymoon and were both bowled over by the attention to detail, the food and the staff, not to mention the stunning location. Monachyle Mhor is an absolute gem of a hotel and we would happily recommend it. The room was very nice with a big bed and... more

Had a nice stay here in March, but it did not live up to my expectations. The staff are pleasant but were not up to the level required for the standard of hotel charging the rates they do. Room was lovely although cold on arrival, it had many nice touches. Food was nice but felt portions small, wine was overpriced... more

We begun our journey at MM and it took the rest of the week to get over it, and this is why. This hotel has the monopoly of this beautiful glen and therefore can charge pretty much what they please and they do. $700 ($850 with wine) is an awful lot of money for one night but I reckon it... more

Stayed for 3 nights for a special birthday. Hotel was excellent. We had a luxury room with Italian stone bath, superb rain shower and all the little extras in the room made it even more special. The food was 5 star and wine very reasonably priced. The staff were all young and enthusiastic. For extra treat book a massage! Overall... more

We stayed here in February 2008 and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to escape to a quiet country boutique hotel and enjoy delicious food. Our room was one of the luxury ones, full of quirky and thoughtful touches, a huge bath, L'Occitane toiletries and its own steam room. The complimentary sparkling wine, fruit, fresh coffee and homemade shortbread... more
