I travel a lot for work around the UK and was asked to go Stirling last minute. Wanted a single room for the night and no breakfast as I was leaving at 4am to go to Manchester for another job. Called up Friday and Tom booked me in. Upon arrival he forgot he had me down haha wasn't an issue... More

We stayed at the Highland House Hotel for 2 nights 3/4 April. It is centrally located in Callander and everything is within easy reach. Tom and Angela, the owners, are absolutely brilliant and Tom's banter was first class! Our en-suite room was neat, tidy and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast - where have you been when the last call... More

Great location, warm & friendly B&B. Four poster bed. Tom playing the bagpipes as a call for breakfast was just amazing. Breakfast was exactly what we wanted. Loved it. Will be visiting again and recommending it to friends.

Arrived at c4pm yesterday and first the owner couldn't find our reservation, and then, when he found it, he told us that his wife had given our room away to another couple. So instead of the double room I'd booked and paid for, we ended up with a twin room. On Valentine's Day! No explanation, no apology. Appalling treatment.

Thanks for a fabulous night stay. Tom and his wife welcome you into their b&b with open arms. And if your luck tom might even play you some music. We had a single and a double which was great in size, very clean and a good standard. I would recommend staying here in the summer, as we stayed during the... More

Although the location of this b&b (not a hotel) was good, the fundamentals of running a b&b are lacking in the skills of the owners. Despite confirmation via email months in advance (admittedly after altering the booking twice, but this is why I sought confirmation they had understood, which we got) of arrival, the owners chose not to book people... Grumpy owner answered door without greeting. Whilst negotiating death trap, narrow stairs I banged my head on the low ceiling. On pointing out that a warning would have been helpful, owner said "Didn't you see the notice?" (notice on the side wall, can't see it when watching narrow stairs). Décor dated, room small, washbasin not plumbed in. Private bathroom means... More

Highland house offers small rooms in a great location in Callander. The owners were terrific to deal with, the rooms very clean albeit small, it was a very old fashioned guest house experience for us. Shower in our room opened directly onto the bedroom which was interesting. Hot breakfast supplied was good, would return again.

Very friendly service, lovely breakfast, nice, cosy rooms and in general just a lovely atmosphere. It is in a Good location, just off the Main Street. Everything you need for a comfortable stay in Callander.
