I stayed here many years ago and this hotel remains my favourite after all these years. The food is divine. Try the afternoon teas if you get a chance. I love the formal but relaxed rooms and the garden is certainly worth an explore too. I can smell the warm wood fires and furniture polish just thinking about this place.... More

WE arrived and were shown to our room. The ceilings were 6' high and with me being 6' 3 it was an instant no go. We did enquire about meals, but £15 added to room rate for breakfast each and £28 for an average sounding Main at dinner meant we cancelled the booking left disappointed and went to the lovely... We arrived mid afternoon last Friday till today Sunday. The hotel is just wonderful. The bedroom was lovely very clean and spacious. The restaurant is great and the food delicious. The lounges and bar area are just so welcoming with the roaring fires and comfortable seating. The staff couldn't do enough for you very courteous and a credit to Roman... More

Wanting to get away from our busy and complex lives my wife and I chose the Roman Camp Hotel for a weekend break. The hotel itself is great with a very bohemian feel and funky rooms. We had a suite so had a living area and spa bath which got lots of use. We also ate in the restaurant for... More

My wife and I stayed at the Roman Camp hotel for one night and we loved it, the building and decor if beautiful, the staff were attentive and professional and the food was excellent, we stayed in one of the suites used be the Beatles in 1964 which was great.

After a tough couple of months, we decided to treat ourselves with a return visit to an hotel we had stayed happily at on two previous occasions. We saw that there was a special Leisure Break offer but this was for two nights and we could only manage the one. On phoning the hotel, however, they were happy to give... More

I cannot recommend this hotel and staff highly enough. Loved EVERYTHING! The surroundings, the walled garden, the river bank, the real fires, the decor, the Christmas decorations, the food, the band, the staff, the fireworks, the owner, his dog! If you have an occasion you must go, if you have a spare day, you must go. This hotel harks back... More

What an amazing place!! It has charm & character in abundance. I took my partner as a 40th birthday surprise & he loved it. Our suite was lovely (we were given an upgrade as I'd booked so far in advance & it was quiet) & thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds (by the river & round the gardens). We dined in... More

an old hunting lodge with great public rooms and roaring fires .. but it lacked the friendliness you would hope for in a highland property .. the staff were efficient, but you got no welcome from them .. the food in the dining room was very good, but perhaps a bit too fancy for the hotel and surrounds (and it... If anyone is currently seeking a Wedding Day with difference then we would highly recommend this Hotel, based on our recent experience. Beautiful grounds, fabulous food, friendly and efficient staff. From our initial contact to discuss Wedding arrangements over a year before the day, to the arrival of friends and family, the quaint Ceremony Room with private chapel area, the... More
