After 25 years together we decided to get married and The Roman Camp was the local ideal choice for both wedding and reception. We could not have been more delighted, Shona helped us organise the day and was so supportive with all the information she provided, the menu choice was super and we could mix and match to provide our... Have stayed here twice now, the first time was in a lovely suite and this time was a last minute deal so had to take what was offered which was a double room which advertised as an extra large double bed (ie, it was 2 singles put together). The bed and pillows were comfy enough but really needs a larger... More

This is an idyllic hotel setting, beautiful tranquil surroundings with friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. The dining experience is excellent with well-trained, polite staff and top-class food. Our room was large with every little touch catered for - water, fruit, cofffee/tea, port, etc, etc. If you are looking for a high-class venue for a romantic weekend, this... More

Roman Camp has much to offer. It is a beautiful quiet location next to a stream, with lovely gardens. The house oozes character, and the rooms were clean, with comfortable beds and nicely updated private bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely, and the chef knows how to make perfect French-style scrambled eggs. Unfortunately, we had difficulty finding this place as luxurious as... More

What a lovely property! Historic hotel which gracefully hold its guests with modern appointments. Our suite has three areas: a large modern and elegant bathroom (shower, tub, Jacuzzi, marble) nestled in a turret; a vast sitting room with a couch, two overstuffed chairs plus an armoire and two chests; and a lovely bedroom (King size bed, small dressing table)... all... We decided to book Roman Camp based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. Were these guests really staying at the same hotel as us? The whole place was dilapidated, dingy and run down. Our room was painted a depressing ochre colour, the window / door to the garden was hanging off its hinges, the bedside clock was aged to a... More
