This is my 2nd review of this hotel, we got married there in Nov 2007 and returned this month for a 3 day midweek break with our 5 month old baby. Good food for us makes the difference between a successful or disasterous holiday and the food on this trip was absolutely fantastic, the first night we had to award... more

We’ve just held our wedding at the Roman Camp Hotel and it was nothing short of fabulous! I can’t recommend the hotel highly enough. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with Ben Ledi behind it and the river Teith running around it, simply stunning. As soon as you turn off the main road and go under the old stone... more

I searched online for a nice hotel to stay in as a birthday treat for my fiance. Normally we stay in Apex and Hilton hotels and I wasn't sure what to expect from the Roman Camp hotel. We walked into the reception area where there is a log fire, we were greeted warmly and offered a tour of the hotel.... more

I booked the hotel for my husband's birthday weekend as a surprise. The room was very comfortable, more of a cosy amosphere as opposed to a mod-con, high tech environment! The jacuzzi topped it off. The meals were stunnung, complemented by a crackling fire in the dining room. The staff were exceptionally helpful and professional. They were there when needed... more

We stayed for two nights in a pet-friendly garden suite and found the whole experience was well above our expectations despite the fairly hefty prices. We enjoyed superb fresh food from a menu which actually appears to have been thought out rather than slapped together for convenience. Service was friendly and informal but always professional - therefore perfect as far... more

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. We searched throughout Scotland for a location and from the minute we went to the Roman Camps we knew we wanted to get married there. A year before our wedding we stayed at the Roman Camp a lovely peaceful location, the food was excellent and the staff extremely accommodating - this reassured us... more

I have just came across this website on reviews of the Roman Camp and thought I would add our experience staying at the hotel. We chose to get married at The Roman Camp on the 6th August 2007 as we wanted our day to be intimate, cosy and with a small party they could all stay over night. Our guests... more

We stayed at Roman Camps for three nights and enjoyed every minute. Tired of corporate chains we decided to go for something different, and had heard good reviews. Everything was different, the bedrooms are all individual and perhaps slightly oldfashioned, but have character, and importantly, the plumbing and heating are up to date. There was complimentary fruit and sherry in our... more

I know this is a little belated - 1yr 4months- but I just wanted to say what a wonderful wedding we had at Roman Camp on 5 September 2006. We had a very small wedding - the two of us and two witnesses - and we were looking for something very intimate. We knew when we first visited that this... more

We stayed here in suite as part of a gift kindly given to us by friends. It was much anticipated as we had heard good things about it. At £285 per room for DBB we expected it to be very good. The building and public rooms are full of old world charm and there was roaring fires almost around every... more
