Spent two nights in the Crags and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having read the review where someone said their room was missing a bathroom and Alex's amusing reply we were intrigued as to what to expect. Well Alex your place is quirky but in the nicest possible way and we would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food (breakfast in... More

My wife, daughter and I enjoyed another lovely dining experience in the ambience of the Crags Restaurant. The Venison Fillet Steak was even more succulent and well presented even than last time. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Sea Bass and the home made Icecream plus Sticky Toffee Pudding were really excellent. Alex, the proprietor chef took the trouble to discuss... More

Wrote a review earlier, but posted it the restaurant in error. Restaurant was great, btw! Sadly, we arrived too late to enjoy the town, due to travel delays. However, our room was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. We ate a delicious supper in the hotel restaurant, including some very tasty local beer. The people are friendly and... More

The hotel itself is lovely, parking at the back of the hotel was easy to find and ample, staff were all friendly the pub was quiet during the day and I was pretty convinced the reviews we had read about the noise was going to be nagging nannies who never have anything nice to say. We went out and did... More

Loud Pub, turned into a "hotel". Are room was on the top floor and had no bathroom. We walked out and stayed in a lovely hotel just down the road. I wouldn't recommend it. The price wasn't exactly a bargain either!!!

I am outraged... absolutely outraged... by what I have just read! The instant... and I mean the instant... I read your review I launched a roots and shoots inquiry regarding the circs you have described! It appears something fishy has taken place and I want answers... as I am sure you do! I spoke to housekeeping and they swear blind... More

Don't be fooled by the name, it's a dead set classic pub. Great rooms, great feed, great company, and then a damn good breakfast to boot. Alex, the bossman, top bloke that can spin a yarn or two. Callander itself is a great town and the pub is on the main drag so easy walking distance for everything, well worth... More

Difficult to know where to start to heap praise on what from the outside looks such an unassuming hotel. From the moment you step over the threshold the warmest welcome awaits you from Vikki, co-owner with her husband, Alex. The warm welcome does not stop with the lovely owners. With Alex and Vikki's theatrical and film background it would not... More

Travelling with 3 kids under the age of 10, we were very happy to find accommodation where we could all stay together. We had 2 rooms with an interleading bathroom. Everything very clean and comfortable, somewhat dated, but full of character. We didn't notice any noise from the bar below.

We planned a holiday with a trip enjoying the entire Loch Lomond area. We scanned Tripadvisor and carefully chose The Crags as our stopping point; it was the best rated in the middle of the areas we wanted to visit. We were pleased with our choices; it was the busiest B&B/hotel in the area and quite full but rightly so-... More
