To see England you must leave the big cities and enjoy the countryside. We watch movies and listen to the British higher classes talk about a home in the country, Longacre B&B is the experience of which they speak. Alex is a wonderful host, he makes a great Full English Breakfast. It is rural and very homey. We stayed in... More

Having booked the two rooms for single occupancy we were looking forward to good accommodation based on the photographs and the price. However the bathrooms in both rooms were disgraceful with much mould and in one room evidence of a serious water leak. In the other bathroom there was evidence of previous occupants. In both rooms lack of cleanliness was... More

This is an interesting barn conversion in beautiful countryside and we had high hopes as the photos looked lovely and at the price we expected a good standard of accommodation and cleanliness. However we were bitterly disappointed. The bathrooms to both rooms needed attention, the shower tiles and grouting were stained, one shower was leaking and a nasty black stain... More

We have just spent a lovely time with Alex in his quite gorgeous Devonshire retreat. The directions are spot on, drive with care and no problems should be encountered. The room and facilities are great, standards are high, breakfast a joy - we thoroughly recommend it and look forward to our return. Seek out the Sea Trout at Staverton- it... More

We only stayed for one night, so not the most comprehensive review. However, we had a very enjoyable night. The B&B was very clean, pretty and well presented. Alex was very welcoming and helpful in directing us to a lovely, local pub for dinner (The Cott Inn). As another review has mentioned, the rooms didn't have any locks, and although... More

Stayed there last weekend 6/7/13 and it was a wonderfully hot day, the room was nice and cool and very nice decor, very comfy bed, towels, tv, tea and coffee making facilities and milk. Although there wasn't any phone reception there is wifi. Alex is very friendly and makes a great breakfast in the morning. The location was great for... More

We booked into Landacre whilst on the road from London and unfortunately met with a nasty protruding rock in one of the narrow lanes which led to a bad tyre blowout. Our car needed to be taken for repair and we subsequently arrived very late for check-in. Alex was very hospitable & ran us back into town twice (once with... More

Lovely setting and told about the hostile neighbour regarding cars. The room was charmless and felt unloved. Bedding was good, tiniest hairdryer on the planet. Previous guests toiletries left in bathroom cabinet. Shower looked great on appearance but was a "run around to get wet" version. Are we being picky or are all British showers like this? Generous cobweb in... More

We stayed at Longacre as we were visiting family in the area. We were promptly greeted by the owner and shown to our room, which was good - clean, spacious and well equiped. The house is in a very rural location and only reachable by a series of narrow country lanes, but this adds to its charm. We were very... More

Would highly recommend this B&B. We spent 3 nights there and it was very comfortable, wonderful breakfasts, spacious room and good en-suite bathroom. The immediate surroundings are very rural and quiet and it is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area with its many beautiful spots. We shall stay here again to continue our explorations of the... More
