In contrast to all people and recommendations who told me not to stay there I was positively suprised. Of course it is an old, narrow building. But rooms are okay and clean enough. Sure, you shouldn't expect 4-star luxury - rooms are really tiny and the whole place does have more a Pub atmosphere. But I therefore it is right... more

Very hard to recommend this one to anybody. Parking is limited - very small (chargeable) car park that must be arranged in advance. Upon arrival the staff were only just polite, and their general attitude was poor and 'don't care'. My room was small, dank and smelly. The bed lumpy with sharp springs, and the quilt was dreadful. You are... more

I stayed here on business for 1 night this week. There is a tiny car park on site (which you have to pay for and reserve in advance). When I asked the man on reception if he knew of anywhere else I could park, he shrugged and said "I don't know..." (and the undertone was definitely "I don't care"). The... more

Stayed for just one night, didnt have the same appeal as most best western hotels, couldnt complain about room at all, but food was only served in the bar, with the local drinkers, I had to ask for a knife and fork, and my steak was swimming in a watery sauce from the wet salad, making the chips all soggy,... more

Due to the races at Newton Abbot I have stayed in the Best Western Queens Hotel on several occasions. The new metro style image along with well equipped bedrooms and bathrooms has improved my enjoyment when using this hotel. As the race course is only a short walk from the hotel and the train station it makes it a perfect... more

I stayed here for one night. I would not do so again. On the plus side, the Queens is opposite the railway station. They are currently undertaking refurbishment works in a number of bedrooms. I was awoken very early by the builders shouting, moving around the corridors and generally being builders on site. There is no other access around them,... more

I have never been to a more horrible hotel. The room had obviously not been cleaned, the en suite toilet stank and our non-smoking room reeked of smoke. We went for our evening meal in the resturant downstairs that was extremely over-priced. To make matters worse, my partner then got food poisoning. I do not reccommend it if you are... more

I've stayed here a number of times on business stopovers and for the money it's very good - much more friendly and personal - more like a family run hotel than the other big chains. Food is decent , as is the service - would be ok for a night or a week , close enough to the coast and... more
