stayed two nights ago and it was nice to see same owners who as before were very welcoming and remembered me from my last stay. Which is nice. I feel quite strong when I read really negative reports about little guest houses having a go in a very difficult bed factory market at the moment! I only stay in small... More

We stayed at the Hazelwood in July as we were attending a family party in Newton Abbot. It was the cheapest we found (and I know why!) We had 4 rooms booked, 4 doubles and one family, 2 rooms were twins and the family consisted of a double bed with a single mattress on the floor?? (Not explained when we... More

We stayed here for one night as a family of 4. We had a very warm welcome on arrival, the rooms although a little dated are very clean and well maintained. The beds very comfy, showers hot, very clean bathroom with tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was delicious, cooked fresh to order. The owner and I think his son, served... More

When I arrived the guesthouse had not received my reservation due to an admin error, but the manager dashed back to let me in the minute I phoned to say I'd arrived. The owner is a little eccentric and I was a bit wary to begin with, but the manager is delightful, really helpful and charming, so he made me... More

I stayed here for 4 nights in room 2 on the ground floor. The owner was pleasant and informative. The room was clean and well presented and attended to on a daily basis. I spent every evening in my room and was very comfortable. The bathroom had all that was required and everything worked. The shower was powerful and hot!!.... More

down for family event. upon reaching my room i discovered that the toilet door had no lock and instead was a sliding type door. One of the light fittings on the wall was held up with duct tape. I encountered the tiniest TV I've ever seen in my life and was puzzled by the electric radiator placed right next to... More

Although there was a friendly greeting upon arrival the room itself was in need of TLC. The shower was disgusting & I could not bring myself to use it; the bedroom had not been cleaned - there was a layer of dust on the bedside tables! Worst of all were the 32 bites I found on Sunday after one night... More
