Having stayed for a short break with my wife back about 2006/7 , we were aware that even then, most of the clientele were workmen using the place to stay whilst working in the vicinity. Even so, we were welcomed by the management and taken to our allotted room and asked if there was anything we required . This time... More

My husband booked a Saturday night as we were going to a wedding nearby, he booked it on the basis of the photos on line, sad to say Room 7 was not advertised - because it was sad. However, the sheets were lovely and clean and so were the towels and loo and the breakfast most acceptable.

I arrived on saturday evening to a delightful exterior. However the reception area was obviously distressed and in need to some TLC, the wallpaper was faded and peeling in places. The carpet seemed to be a trifle threadbare. I had my small terrier with me as had been arranged. On announcing my arrival I was given a tirade about 'shedding'... More

We stayed here back in 2006 so I don't know if it's changed hands or not! However it's a B&B and for the price we thought it was just fine the staff owners were very friendly and happy to help us, We had come down as my Aunt was ill actually in positive care, so rather than come back and... More

'If you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all' would normally be my line with such places, however they sent me an email reminding me to leave feedback so here it is. Arrived to some random guy in sandals who told me the owner had gone out and taken my room key with him, not much actual detail... More

I stayed at the Hazlewood Guesthouse on two occasions in June and found the rooms clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped and the staff friendly and helpful. I stayed with my dog and they accommodated us both very well, allowing my dog to stay in the room (in his cage) whilst I was away for the day. Breakfast was excellent... More

This B&B is very old and needs a real re-vamp. We stayed for 4 nights The positives are that it is near town, only a 5-10min walk depending on how fast you walk and there is lots of storage space, cupboards, drawers, cupboards in the bathroom too. Our room also had a lovely little high tech TV with good channel... More

If you are thinking of making a booking for this guesthouse whatever you do don't make any errors. I thought I had made a booking for a future date only to be informed that in fact I had booked for that night. This came to light when I received my bank statement showing that payment had been taken. On querying... More

so where to begin with this terrible guest house first the building itself is rather charming but the owner is a raging alcoholic on more then one occasion i found him drinking from early morning until late at night which clearly affects his judgement as he was boasting about being some gangster all the while trying to con a elderly... Just a 5 minute walk across Courtenay Park from Newton Abbot Station, the Hazelwood is on the outskirts of the town and within walking distance of the racecourse. Although clearly somewhat dated, we found it perfectly adequate for our purpose. The beds were comfortable, although - and not as if it actually mattered for one night - the TV in... More
