My wife and I have just returned from a long weekend's stay visiting family in Newton Abbot and were delighted to find this excellent B & B, situated in a lofty location above the town, with splendid views and easy access to the locality. We were given a warm and friendly welcome by the owners Ian and Jane, who seem... More

I have nothing but praise for this Devon gem. Set on a hill overlooking the town, the racecourse, the moors and the river, this delightful bed and breakfast ticks all the boxes more than once. From the warm welcome to the spotless and comfy room, from the stunning breakfast to the very friendly atmosphere, I can find no fault what... More

My family and I have stayed twice at Ian and Jane's guesthouse in Newton Abbot. My daughters remembered the sumptuous decor very clearly when we returned to the same lovely room with stunning views. Breakfast is unforgettable and will tide you into the next day! We are taking lessons in hospitality from the Browns. A super place to stay.

This is my second visit to The Brown's Guest House. Ian and Jane are great hosts and provided a friendly welcome, remembering my last visit and helping with my bags - even after I arrived much later than I had planned. The en-suite room was clean and very comfortable with nice touches, such as fresh milk for tea/coffee and a... More

We have now stayed at the Brown's Guesthouse twice, first with our four children, and then with our five children...!! Jane and Ian are down to earth, friendly and extremely accommodating hosts who make it an absolute pleasure to stay. We have a large family which can sometimes feel like herding rats, but with Jane and Ian everything was so... More

We enjoyed our stay at The Browns Guest House. Jane and Ian were very welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Very clean rooms and cozy. The view over Newton Abbot from the bedroom window was beautiful. Delicious, hearty breakfasts to keep us energized throughout the day.

Homelands stands at the top of a steep hill, thus has the most fantastic views over Newton Abbot and the surrounding country side. There are short cuts downhill,so the walk into Newton Abbot town centre only taks about ten minutes. (Dog owners might want to eat in "Lemonjelli", a Bistro on the main shopping street. Dogs are most welcome there)... More

Ian and Jane gave us the warmest welcome, they really are the greatest hosts. Room was immaculate, views were amazing and Janes breackfast topped everything! If we are back in that part of the country again we will definitely be staying there again! Thanks again for all your hospitality.

I have stayed here many times and always look forward to go back. The rooms are all nice (I have stayed in three over my visits) and well presented and clean with a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival. The guesthouse is family run so it's full of personal touches throughout from the slippers and robes in the room right... More
