An extremely warm and friendly greeting, showed to an excellent room which was spotless and very well prepared. Good wifi, reasonable evening menu and an excellent breakfast. The thing that really makes it is the team are just excellent

We stayed here for just the one night. Room was plenty big enough for the two of us. Perfect shower, tea coffee and biscuits in the room. Highlight was the breakfast.. Yum.. Although the waitress did get our order wrong, we let her off as it was a Sunday morning and she was lovely!

I've stayed here twice on business, lovely hotel, lovely location, superb staff interesting conversation with Billy Bragg. My room was spotless, however walls need to be insulated a bit more and the room I stayed in was very close to a noisy fridge, perhaps a tin of fly spray to deal with the abundance of mosquitos. My biggest problem was... More

Stayed here for one night on business in Newton Abbott. I prefer independent hotels when I am travelling and I was not disappointed. I booked a superior room with a balcony and after a 6 hour drive, sitting on the balcony listening to the birds and the stream was just the peace I needed. I ate in the restaurant which... More

We stayed for 3 nights in 'Edward's Room'. It was small but perfectly formed! Comfortable beds and very clean bathroom with shower over the bath. It was at the front of the hotel so there was a bit of traffic noise (quiet road in general but when a vehicle goes by it really whizzes!) but it didn't bother us. We... More

Invited to Gary & Peters wedding and was more than impressed by this first class venue, from the Pimms on arrival, to the wonderful wedding breakfast everything was tip top. Later we enjoyed a first class buffet. Everything here if done with great style and great care. A must visit if in the area

Pub well located for exploring the 'english riviera'. Our room was lovely (Riviera) & having the balcony was an additional benefit. We ate a couple of times in the restaurant & the food was very good - as was the breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

I had to really think hard about this hotel as we had a bad experience, there was a wedding party from hell, booked in on the night we stayed, and they were very very noisy which interrupted our sleep, but I cannot give this hotel a bad review because of one bad experience, the quality of the food and the quality of the... My daughter and I had an excellent lunch, I had the roast beef lunch with roast potatoes, glazed carrots and parsnips, cauliflower cheese, broccolli and a wonderful yorkshire puddling. My daughter had Ty Green chicken curry with fragrant rice and nan bread,(which I tasted), if was very good. I also had passion fruit creme brulee which was also very good.... More

This hotel is also listed under the restaurant category so I have duplicated my review. The welcome we received when we arrived at 3.00pm was superb. The owner, James was there to greet us and show us to our room - Eaves, one of the many which have been refurbished to a lovely standard by him and his wife since... More
