Glebe House is a delight. A quintessentially English country house set in a cottage garden in a tranquil Wiltshire village. Ginny provides a warm welcome with tea and home baking, excellent breakfasts and comfortable rooms. We had dinner on two nights and were able to enjoy them on the terrace surrounded by flowers and listening to bird-song. Some delightful walking... More

What a delightful surprise when we arrived at Glebe House. Everything was top notch, delightful furnishings, beautiful garden, scrumptious scrambled eggs and a magnificent garden. Thank you Ginny for a fabulous final night on our travels from Oz and don't forget to consider exporting that prize winning orange marmalade.

Glebe House is a wonderful B&B, it is in an excellent location which is very tranquil. Ginny is an excellent chef, the food is worthy of the best restaurant. I stay for business reasons locally but also come back with the family at other times when we need to be anywhere in Wiltshire. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and everything... More

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, at home, and extremely comfortable. We were offered tea and cake taken outside in Ginny's sun kissed peaceful garden. This was just what we needed after each day walking around the West Wilts delights of the Westbury White Horse, Cley, Hill, Avebury, Lacock to name but a few.... More

The level of service and hospitality Ginny provides is superb. A beautiful room, excellent breakfast, a lovely secluded house in a area of beauty, everything you might need or wish for. Including tips or advice or a nice conversation about history, the countryside or the dogs. We will surely visit Ginny and Glebe House again.

I was thoroughly satisfied with my stay here. I made two business trips and each time enjoyed the warm welcome and fantastic hospitality of the host Mrs Scrope. My room was very comfortable, there's a beautiful large drawing room to relax in and the food is absolutely delicious. If I am ever in the area I will definitely stay here... More

Located well down a no-through lane, the house and garden are both full of interest. Ginny is a superb hostess who makes guests feel completely at home, puts on an excellent breakfast and ensures they know about all there is to be seen in the West Wiltshire countryside. A thoroughly recommended place to stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay, oozing peace and quiet. The house is really welcoming and comfortable, the hospitality is impeccable, the breakfasts are scrumptious, and we really appreciated all the tips for visiting local attractions and dog-friendly eateries. Definitely dog-friendly, our three-year old labrador can vouch for that, having fields to run in only two minutes away and... More

We stayed at Glebe House again in July, tempted back by how much we enjoyed our first visit We were again visiting my wife's sister in a Devizes Nursing Home. Glebe House rather special, very much a cut above so many run of the mill B & Bs. It is located well away from traffic noise, on a dead end... More

Lovely little B & B. Despite us arriving late in the evening Mrs Scrope was ready to greet us with a warm log fire and a glass of wine! Lovely clean comfortable room and our own bathroon right next door. Delicious breakfast with lost of choice and fruit direct from the garden! We only had a short stay so didn't... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Glebe House is quintessentially, with a touch of the exotic, an award winning small country house B & B set in one of Wiltshire's hidden gems. With a 4 Star Gold Ward winner 2014 you are assured of quality and a high standard. We have won A Gold Award at the Dalemain World's Original Marmalade Contest. The house is set in a mature garden, with off street parking. It is truly a tranquil and quiet place to stay. Our song birds and the wild life here are a rare treasure. All the rooms are furnished with comfortable beds made up with beautiful white, crisp bed linen and unique quilts from India and Portugal and have tea and coffee making facilities. The bathrooms have complimentary soaps and shower gels and large towels. We accept well behaved children and have a cot with linen and high chairs. You can sink into a comfortable sofa by the log fire and watch TV or a DVD or simply read the copious number of books .Your breakfast and dinner are sourced as locally as possible from our local butcher and farm shop. In summer we use what we grow in the garden in the kitchen and serve at meals. Rhubbarb is a great favourite. We make our own prize winning marmalades and jams. From Chittoe we are well placed to visit three world Heritage sites, Avebury, Bath and Stonehenge and then there are the delightful villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. We are currently working on walking and cycling tours from the house and pack lunches can be provided. There are National Trust properties, gardens galore, historical houses and cathedrals to visit. We can help with your itinerary. There is Wifi here so if you need to keep in touch with the outside world or your business you can with ease.Paws for Thought - we do like to welcome good dogs. ... more   less
