I visited the captains club for the first time as a special treat. We chose the champagne afternoon tea which is quite pricey but I had heard goods things. I must say I was disappointed. The seats in the bistro area where we were sat were tatty and ripped, the tea pot was chipped. There was only 2 kinds of... More

3 of us dined on tues 9th April, having booked a table. It wasn't busy. Right from the start we were giving a dirty side plate. The waiter didn't care. The starter and main were very good, but once our main was served we were left on our own. Our wine never arrived, as the waiter was too busy chatting. It... More

We had a spa afternoon here with a light lunch included. The dining service was attentive and the open crab sandwich (you get a choice of food) was excellent, as was the fresh smoothie. The jacuzzi area is large, the sauna did its job and the hydrotherapy pool was lovely and warm. A big shout out to Helen who listened... More

Spent a lovely overnight stay here. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Views were lovely both with sunshine and rain! Despite having eaten in the restaurant before, on this occasion we didn't eat there, but did enjoy a really lovely breakfast. Morning visit to the Spa was very relaxing.

The Captain's club is a hidden gem. We stayed in a suite for mother's day. The hotel broke its 2 nights stay policy for us on this busy weekend. The building is only a few years old, we stayed in a bed apartment. The apartment was well equipped with 2 bedrooms, a lounge, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. The fittings... More

We recently celebrated my 70th here. It was amazing from arrival to departure. Our daughter upgraded us and we were shown to a 2 bedroom apartment with 5 rooms! The views were amazing as was the food, wine and cocktails. The staff were friendly and helpful - particularly Victoria and salvatore. We took the ferry and walked to hengitsbury head... More

We have eaten lunch here on several occasions and keep returning for the beautiful food, the fascinating views of dogs and boats enjoying the quay and the water, and the friendly but highly professional service. There is always an excellent choice of dishes and they are well presented and imaginatively served. Recently we took a friend along, too, and she... More

A great hotel close to the town center of Christchurch along the river. We were greeted well and bags taken to our room. so good first impressions, The room was a good size and we heard no noise from other guests so good sound proofing. Our hair dryer broke and was replaced really quickly. The bed was very comfy and... More

We ate twice last weekend at this establishment. First on the Saturday night we had a small celebration for my brothers 40th wedding anniversary. Food and service were excellent. I had roasted Cod followed by Tarte Tatin. The next day (Sunday) my brother was 70 and took 32 people to lunch in the private function room overlooking the river. The... More

Attended a friend's wedding at the captains club this week. The staff and the facilities were absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend this hotel as the perfect wedding venue. And the food must be some of the best wedding food I have ever eaten the chefs do this hotel massive credit
