We stayed here 2 nights, and ate at the restaurant one. The room was spotless, comfortable, quiet and classy. Breakfast was amazing - by far more creative than other B and B's. The food was exceptional, and Sue, the innkeeper was extremely helpful and kind. The price was reasonable, and the location was perfect for exploring the Welsh castles -... More

We (family of 4, 2 toddlers) stayed here for one night. It was a very comfortable stay in the top room. Plenty of space and very comfortable bathroom. The kids were very relaxed there and we found the style and design of the room easy with them. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and responsive to any of our... More

We stayed here for one night in early May. Our room was good, not enormous but not pokey. It was clean with real quality linen. The bathroom was a tad tired but very clean with a fine view of the cadet hall, the fire station and the ambulances. Coleford is not noisy place and we had a quiet night. The... More

I have stayed in other B and B's in the area and this is my favourite. Sue is amazingly helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We have relatives in the area so we didn't use the restaurant but my sister had heard very positive things about it as well. Lovely old house with features such as sash windows and window... More

Really cannot fault the owners. When we asked for a room with a bath for our second night we were moved with no issue whatsoever. You do get the impression there is nothing that they wouldn't do for you. And The breakfast was great.

Reading all the other reviews it seems like everyone has a great time here, but I wanted to share our experience with our family of 5 - 3 young children of 4y-2y-8months and parents. We were greeted in the most welcoming way and our children immediately felt at home. The family room was great with lots of books and a... More

Having seen the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor we booked for a night at Forest House and we were not disappointed. Sue and Geoff were very friendly and we were shown to a spacious double room. The shower was up to standard and the bed comfortable. The WC "moaned" a bit on filling and the basin taps a bit dated but... More

What a lovely warm welcome we had at Forest House - we slept well in a very comfortable twin room overlooking the garden. The dinner was absolutely delicious and the service efficient and friendly: an opinion obviously shared by many others as the restaurant was buzzing all evening. Breakfast too was a delight, and Sue and Geoff offer such good customer... More

Stayed for one night in February 2014. Clean friendly small family hotel in the middle of Coleford. Excellent evening meal, my partner had a steak which was one of the best cooked steaks she had ever had. I am a vegetarian and had a wonderful millefeuille plus hoe made bread and butter pudding, Breakfast was filling and well cooked, poached... More

We stayed as a group of two couples. Delightful welcoming staff and an excellent dinner in the Bluebell restaurant, interesting main course options, and a sensible wine list including unusual Italian ones. Rooms were old fashioned, as one would expect in an old house, but a good size, warm and with comfortable beds. As we needed to leave early on... More
