It's more of a golf club that has a bar and function room but it's a golf course first. We had a party there the staff were friendly but breakfast was slow due to it being a Sunday morning and everybody was waiting or going to play. Would I go again not sure as I don't like golf.

12 couples with the men playing golf and the girls indulging in some details theorpy. The food was very good with a good choice of menu which you selected after breakfast and forward the list to reception. The rooms are spacious if a little tired in places. The golf course was in good condition with some nice holes.A good society course.all... More

Stayed here as part of a bowls club group. Staff friendly, but obvious problems in the kitchen meant long waits at breakfast for cooked food, and frequent requests for toasting bread and yoghurt bowl to be refilled. All easily remedied with good management and staff training. Dinner generally very nice, but slow service. Would we venture forth to rebook? Probably... More

The hotel is comfortable, the rooms are not overly large but you do have coffee making facilities. You may need binoculars for the TV's they are not the biggest i have ever seen. The bathrooms are very basic, the WC's when flushed make the loudest noise possible and in the dead of night it sounds worse. The showers work OK,... More

This was our second long weekend away at the bells hoel and golf club. 32 men of mixed ages and mixed handicaps. All 32 of us could not praise the staff and the pro shop enough. Very competively priced. Course was in great condition and suited all types of handicapers. the hotel was very clean and the rooms perfect for... More

24 lads from all various corners of the country converged last weekend for our annual golf Tour. Hotel was in my opinion a little dated, especially the rooms where the bed was really uncomfortable. The food was half decent and catering for a bunch of rowdy golfers must be tricky, especially since many stayed up drinking to the early hours... More

We booked this hotel for a nights break in the Forest of Dean. We love the area & wanted to be near Coleford. The welcoming was professional and polite and we were soon booked in. We were warned that if we wanted to dine in the restaurant we would be better off dining early as there was a presentation evening... More

Stayed for a few nights golf break. Hotel dated, room was very nice actually, clean and well presented but quite dated, ancient hair dryer. The reception area has an odd smell. The staff were all friendly although over in the bar they could do with a few smiling lessons. The food is very average to poor, breakfast has all literally... More

My partner and I stayed at the Bells Hotel for a few days. Staff were good but other guests were very noisy and the noise continued on all night. No staff are available at night. Room not too clean. The room was good, spacious and view of the golf course was quite good. We ate at the hotel most nights and... More

Three of us just returned from a three day break. The overall experience was positive, and we will return. We all had single rooms on the ground floor, and the rooms were fine for our purpose. They were clean and well equipped and comfortable. My one gripe was that there wasnt a shaver socket , and I hadnt packed an... More

Many thanks for you kind comments about your recent golf break with us. I am pleased that you enjoyed your experience both in the hotel and restaurant. You will be happy to hear that our bunker refurbishment has now been completed. I hope that you will return to see the improvements that we have made to the course. More
