We stayed in this lovely hotel which is situated close to the town centre, the overall feeling was of being in the countryside. Staff were attentive and helpful. Food was very good. We upgraded our room to a Heritage room and although quite compact the furnishings were of good quality. The standard rooms are not as lovely however I understand... More

Had a one night stay and cannot fault the hotel, friendly helpful staff, reasonable bar prices for a hotel of this quality. Superior room is well laid out and tastefully decorated and the breakfast was very nice. Would stay again and recommend if I had to be critical, there was a party on and the music was very loud and... More

What a hidden gem Lovely decor, the most friends and attentive staff, great food. My boyfriend arranged for a birthday cake to be made for me after dinner - they were more than happy to do this. The lad behind the bar ensured that our drinks never ran out all evening Rooms were spotless - only complaint is that they... More

The St Andrews is my hotel of choice whenever I stay over in the area. The hotel is easy to find, has ample free off road parking, free wifi which works well. The rooms have all been refurbished and are very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

As a local we thought we would try afternoon tea for a special birthday treat for a friend. The interior which has been recently renovated is definitely not done to a high standard but pleasant enough. We were extremely disappointed with the amount of food we actually got and the quality of it was terrible. 3 soldier sized sandwich fingers... More

Drove up from Dorset not knowing what to expect but was so pleased with everything. Clearly repair work of small amounts underway but a beautiful mansion like this one must take a lot of tender loving care . We were going to eat out in the evening but thought only fair to give the in house cuisine ago.Superb food which... More

Stayed here whilst visiting family in the area. Convenient for both visiting & shopping. It was a very pleasant 4-day stay thanks mainly to the very friendly staff. Becky, in particular, was very attentive and full of enthusiasm. The rooms had been renovated and the bathroom facilities - water pressure / temperature - very acceptable. We suffered some noise from... More
