For the price it is good value. it is near Norwich and also the coast so it is a good base for a night or two. I dont recommend it for a romantic break but generally it is fine. The bedlinen was pristine and the facilities clean. There was plenty of tea and coffee available in the room, the towels... more

Stayed at the Phoenix for a weekend as had a wedding nearby. This hotel COULD be absolutely beautiful. It needs a lot of money and TLC spent on it. All the rooms are extremely spacious but need re-decorating and much of the furniture needs replacing. Our room was large with TV, tea /coffee facilities and an en-suite. Unfortunately (as with... more

PROS Kind and helpful staff (eg. they let me occupy my room well before the official check-in time). Secure doors (opened with a magnetic stripe card). Spacious room. Stereo TV. Some items of furniture are beautiful. Simple but elegant decor. Clean towels, sheets, sink, tub. Low price (Ł35 pn for a single, without breakfast /which is c. Ł9/). CONS The... more

I have parents living near the hotel and have stayed a few times. the hotel/restaurant and staff are all much of a muchness with this sort of small chain hotel, however, I will NEVER stay again, as each visit has been ruined by the inadaquate parking facitilites at the hotel, there's space for about 7 cars on the grounds, and... more

My partner and I found the Phoenix Hotel very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. Just your standard 'travel lodge' style. The breakfast the next day (and service) was definately more than we expected....however.....just a small warning if you stay on a Saturday night as we did, 2 words, church bells!! They started at 9am and went on and... more

We stayed here for three nights in early September as a friend was getting married nearby. There were pros and cons to the hotel; the stairway to the rooms smelt really musty and there was a plant on one of the floors that definitely had seen better days! We were put in a slightly better room because there had been... more

Clean, comfortable and of a higher standard than we envisaged. Prices were reasonable and location (for us) ideal. We would estimate that both the bedroom and the common areas must have been refurbished no longer than last year. All the staff were polite. The only fault is that we would have expected the windows to be double glazed bearing in... more

We stayed here this weekend for one night and would definitely recommend the hotel. The twin room, although not overly big, was very clean and comfortable and the staff went out of their way to help us. The bar attached to the hotel does great bar food (scampi, curries, baguettes, jacket post etc) and although we didn't ahve an evening... more
