I visited this hotel on Sunday 6 July 2008 (Thought I'd be accurate for the active management responses of this hotel!) I stayed in Windsor at the Mercure Castle hotel for 2 nights but thought I'd check out the Runneymede hotel for the following weekend. I often find the best way to find out how good a hotel is to... more

My fiancee and I stayed at this hotel for our 2nd anniversary. As we arrived we were greeted by the exterior of what looked like a university hall of residence and not a hotel and spa. However we were warmly welcomed by the attentive staff and the interior was more like a country boutique hotel. Our room was fantastic, spacious... more

we stayed at the Runnymede for a family wedding, where my two daughters were bridesmaids. As with previous reviews, the outside of the main building is a little disappointing. Once inside however, the hotel is beautiful and it's position on the lock at Runnymede is outstanding. The rooms were huge (150/152/154), with river views. extremely comfortable furnishings and beds, and... more

We stayed at Runnymede for two weeks. The hotel has fantastic amenities, including free use of the gym, pool, and sauna. The room was fantastic with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was exceptional. The staff was also really nice and courteous. It was expensive, but if you would like to stay somewhere quiet and treat yourself, then this is the... more

Our family of four (including two small kids 6 and 3) went just for a short weekend break and loved it! Don't judge the hotel by its exterior, which looks a bit red-brick but inside is much more stylish than one might imagine. The best bits of the hotel are the spa facilities and swimming pool (hubby had a fantastic... more

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding. Be warned, as you drive up you think you are entering a university halls of residence, the exterior is truly awful. We got to our room which was not a river view and it was boiling. We complained and were told it would be fixed while we were at the wedding,... more

Thank you for your review of the Runnymede Hotel & Spa regarding your stay in April 2006. Whilst we appreciate the exterior of the hotel is not to everybody’s taste, once guests enter the hotel and experience the riverside terraces and décor within the lounge areas and bedrooms hopefully they soon forget the initial impression. However, we are currently working...

The hotel has really improved from years ago and service does come with a smile! The room was comfortable with plenty of space (room 173) Staff were very helpfull and made our stay relaxing. The spa was a welcome to us with the cold wintery weather outside. Dinner/Dance was busy on the evening and food was of a good standard.... more

Oh dear. English hotel. In other words, overrated and expensive. To be fair, the weather was rotten. This however did show up the poor workmanship; the car park's tarmac is uneven, and large puddles form. This is a real nuisance (and this is a 4-star hotel?). And since December in England is dark, I could not step outside to admire... more

Thank you for your review of the Runnymede Hotel & Spa. We value guests' feedback as it is only through such comments that we can strive to improve the services we offer. The Runnymede Hotel & Spa is indeed built in a flood plain and as mentioned in this review the weather had been 'rotten' for a few days. Regretfully...

We booked this as part of a Legoland package. We found the rooms really comfortable and quite stylish. The hotel was able to give us adjoining rooms for the children which lots of hotels can't do. The reservation staff were really helpful getting the legoland tickets to us during the postal strike. One of our children was sick while staying... more

My Husband and I booked the Runnymede Hotel for our wedding in November 2006, we had the Magna Carta suite which over looks the river Thames. The night before my Mum and stayed at the hotel and had a great modern comfortable and clean room with river views. Breakfast is included in the room price but of course I didn't... more
