The hotel is undergoing major refurbishment work so it may be disappointing if this is someone's first stay here. We've stayed here several times and will return again and again. The spa facilities are fantastic and we find the whole experience at the Runnymede so relaxing. The location is superb - we enjoyed a free upgrade to a riverside view... more

We booked very last minute for a one night stay over the bank holiday. We knew there were some refurbishment works happening but we were offered a discounted rate and also an upgrade and river view. On arrival at the hotel you think 'oh dear' but once inside you're pretty oblivious to what's happening, at least not at the weekend... more

Nice setting and good food. The massage was fine (building works meant that treatments were carried out in allocated hotel rooms), but there were problems with my room, which took several phone calls to resolve (noise issues with 'faulty' venilation). After moving to another room (early Monday am), I was looking forward to getting some sleep. This was not to... more

We booked this hotel based on a recommendation from a friend. The hotel didn't tell us that it was going through a major facelift, and that the restaurant was not available. No mention was made at check in that there would be a cheaper rate based on the major renovaton going on. The hotel was not honest. more

Dear 9eagles We are very sorry that your stay with us did not meet your expectations and that you feel we were not entirely frank about our phased refurbishment programme; we are particularly disappointed by your feedback as we have genuinely tried to ensure that our customers are aware of the current situation . We do have a dedicated information...

We were a little apprehensive on our arrival as there are extensive renovations going on with a whole range of building equipment at the front of the hotel. However, once inside, we hardly noticed any of it! The staff could not have been nore friendly and helpful, always going the extra step which was great as we had our six-month... more

I can say no more than the last two contributors. All three generations on our visit thoroughly enjoyed our recent three nights there. The staff were excellent in all areas and I,m sure the hotel will be all the better for the completion of the extensions more

We have just returned home from a weekend away at this hotel. We're not fussy people and will probably put up with more than most but we had high expectations for this hotel and they didn't disappoint. From the really comfortable and spacious room to the fabulous breakfasts and friendly staff - it is one of the best hotels we... more

We spent 4 nights here on a Legoland-linked deal and we were delighted with the hotel. I was apprehensive as the building didn't look too promising from the outside, however we loved the interior - spacious and bright. We had two adjoining rooms as we are a family of 5. This worked perfectly. We found the prices in the Anglers... more

We stayed at this hotel twice on separate work trips within a week. The first time for a river cruise booked via the hotel. On this occasion the room was extremely small with an even smaller bathroom . This made it very difficult for two people to get dressed for the cruise. The room was however well decorated and comfortable.... more
