After a 6 hour journey to Cornwall it was nice to find it was worth it. The hotel is superbly placed on the estuary with a great drinking patio area. The room was comfortable, staff very friendly and the food to die for - I highly recommend the kippers for breakfast and the squab pigeon for evening meal. We hope... More

Spent two nights here on a birthday break. Fowey is a nice little town, not too busy on a late July weekend, and with plenty of eating places and chic shops, as well as boat trips and river views. Hotel was very central, with a nice terrace overlooking the river, with excellent views of the estuary. Would have been great... More

We stayed here for my wife's birthday treat. Arriving via the Fowey traffic system, stopping outside the hotel. This may deter some potential guests but don't be put off. It works very well within this small town, and all deliveries are done by this method. People are used to it and it is not an issue. The reception staff were... More

The Old Quay House is as the name suggests at the heart of Fowey, down by the river. Fowey, like many other Cornish villages is a compromise for pedestrian tourists and motor vehicles. So getting to the hotel to drop off luggage and pick it up requires patience and a strong, unflustered character! A car park is a bit of... More

Couldn't have asked for a nicer start to the holiday. We were shown our room which was on the second floor (no lift) and it was stunning. Able to open the windows and look out on the harbour which was lovely. Clean rooms with a lovely clean bathroom. We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant as well. My two... More

Very well situated and excellent dining room, so we would have enjoyed our stay no matter what. However, one of us had an acute back problem and the staff were all extremely helpful and sympathetic- well beyond what we might have expected. Absolutely top marks.

Fabulous location with stunning views -the best bit by far is being able to sit outside by the water enjoying breakfast -a little slice of heaven! We booked a 2 night stay through secret escapes and were very impressed with the level of service and the nice little touches-umbrellas, waterproof coats, a milk fridge for the corridor, access to an... We stayed two nights in room 12 this is the room to go for fabulous views. This is a boutique hotel with lots of nice touches like waterproof coats in the wardrobe, binoculars to get the best of the view. The food id very good indeed and I like the choice of a bacon sandwich for breakfast rather than the... More

We have just returned from a lovely stay in the hotel. We have been to Fowey many times and have stayed in various hotels and b&b's. This definitely wins on location and being so close to shops and restaurants. I have only given it 4 as our room was small and very hot, especially the bathroom and there was no... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights in a superior room which had a small balcony over looking the Fowey harbour and estuary. The room is a good size with a nice size bathroom. My wife wasn't keen on the shower as its a circular glass type with a rain shower as she found it hard to shower without... More
