Just back from a week-end in Cornwall, having stayed at the fabulous quaint Old Ferry Inn, which is just a stone's through from the banks of the river Fowey. The food was top notch, staff really helpful and welcoming and the views absolutely stunning. Our room was spotless and the bed soooo comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and... More

Although renting a cottage across the rod from the Old Ferry we have staid in the Inn previously. This is a wonderful old English inn on the banks of the river Fowey in Cornwall. The Landlord is an eccentric Frenchman (but we'll forgive him that) the welcome is warm and the food is wonderful. The ferry just a few yards... More

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. It is a bit of trek up to the rooms but once there the views are definitely worth it. We booked a table in the restaurant and had a delicious meal, we could not fault it. We then sat in the very quaint pub and enjoyed a few drinks in there. The... More

We stayed from Friday night through to Sunday with my father-in-law and his girlfriend. Quirky and quaint best describes the place - the bar is always full of an evening at weekends. All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and availed ourselves of the delicious restaurant food on both nights, which is top notch and yet reasonably priced. There's something for... More

Absolutely love this place. The rooms are lovely, the food is great and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I don't want to leave. There are great views if the town and River. You need to catch the ferry across from Fowey. £4 per car £1.70 per person. Must do River cruise from town centre down Fowey River!

We did not stay overnight at this inn so cannot make any comments on accommodation. We did eat twice, once a ploughman's and an evening meal on another day, both meals were of fair proportion and tasty, no complaints, a bit pricey but that seems to be par for the course these days. We will return and eat there again... More

The location is superb, most rooms and the restaurant overlook the Fowey estuary which is terrific and being on the opposite side of the river to the town of Fowey you get a feeling of tranquility. There is also a private car park which is very useful. The rooms are decent enough, reasonably spacious and comfortable but not to a... More

A short ferry trip from delightful Fowey the hotel has a superb location overlooking Fowey Harbour, the river and estuary. A rambling old building with a friendly bar and posher looking restaurant, the rooms are basic and fairly comfortable and the food plentiful but unexceptional. We enjoyed the stay but neither the hotel or the food were cheap and the... More

Arriving by train at Par our taxi driver took us to Fowey but did not know where the Old Ferry Inn was located (just 30 metres uphill from the car ferry landing at Bodinnick). The hotel is "quirky", with a seemingly random selection of staircases and doorways. Decor was dated but perhaps that's its charm. WiFi was free but didn't... More

We last stayed here many years ago when the inn was filled with beautiful antiques. The present owners have decided to mix the old with the new keeping the charming old bar area as it has probably always been and modernised the upper floors. The restaurant is bright and airy and our bedroom was very light and beautifully decorated with... More
