We stayed here for 2 nights to explore newcastle and surrounds. Location was good so long as you have a car- it's in a quiet area and 5 mins drive from the metro centre. Our room was in the seperate building which was good as it was nice and quiet and you don't even know there's a pub there. It... more

We've stayed here three times as it's convenient for trips to Scotland and we have a friend in Ouston. The staff are always super friendly, the rooms are tastefully done, and there is plenty of safe parking. The breakfasts are good as are the dinners. more

We have stayed here twice now- in May 2009 and again in August. I usually go for 4-5* hotels, but this was near the relatives we were visiting & it seemed good value compared to the newcastle city centre so we thought we'd give it a try. And I'm glad we did! The 1st stay we had a room in... more

We were made very welcome, and given 3 double outside rooms which I thought was a great idea. To be away from the main body of the hotel was really nice, very private, clean, and comfortable. We would stay there again. The staff were friendly and although it was busy we had no problem with the service. Marie & Colin... more

Just returned from a Saturday night stay and have to say I thought it was fab. We had room 14 which is in a row of converted cottages at the back/side of the hotel. The fact that they are not attached to the hotel I think is a great idea.A front door gave access to your room and one other so... more

Attended at race night at this hotel and stayed over night. The whole night was very well arranged food arrived quickly and excellent service from the staff who were only too happy to save you a trip to the bar. The race night itself was brilliant and some of the procedes were going to comic relief. The stay in the... more

Enjoyed a midweek break here with friends in early march. The Hotel has a unique location in that driving straight off the A1 at Gateshead you find yourself in a countryside setting really close to Metro Centre and Newcastle. Externally the hotel has a quaint old fashioned appeal however inside is modern and comfortable. The rooms had all you wanted... more

My mother and myself visited today after a hard days shopping only to find that most of the menu was overpriced for the amount of food you receive. I ordered a baguette and found it overpowered by mustard with cold ships and the salad garnish being a couple of leaves of rocket with nothing else. My mother ordered a piri... more

We have stayed here on various occassions as my in-laws live in the area. We have been in various rooms over the years and would not say there was much difference to any of them. The largest room (think its number 6) is generally let as a family room however this is directly over the ladies toilets and exit from... more
