Very basic, but acceptable. Imagine 20yrs ago the place was pretty decent but has slowly gone down hill. 4 army type beds in room, bedding clean. Done what was required for a stag do weekend, but certainly wouldn't choose for any other purpose. Breakfast was a very poor effort.

Scruffy outside and scruffy inside. Very basic, old and tacky. It is cheap and you get what you pay for. Dusty, dirty and just cheap. Go elsewhere and have a decent stay. I would never return unless i was on a boozy weekend in Newcastle and just wanted to doss down.

I will not be staying again. This place is not for me. It is very cheap and basic, but it is also threadbare and old, tatty and scruffy. You get what you pay for and I would rather stump up and go elsewhere.

Stayed here with some friends recently for your typical Newcastle weekend. Right in the centre of everything, cheap room, cheap taxi fare to the town centre. Bar staff are excellent, really friendly and the food is all homemade - absolutely delicious!!! Will be staying again.

We stayed here on the way to Scotland and on the way back. On the first stay the room was clean but cold as no heating,. On the way back my daughters room has not been cleaned. When I complained they had no alternative rooms so they changed the bedding and the damp towels. If you want a cheap hotel... More

Hotel is a little worn. But what the hotel lacks for in decor & lack of mirrors it makes up for it in the fantastic staff! The 2 members of staff on a long night shift went out of their way to accommodate us when we arrived back from a night out in the early hours. Friendly & happy to... More

Well what can I say..... This hotel is basic, friendly however comes with many faults. The room was over heated, extremely hot with no control over the temperature. When you laid in bed it ended up more like a hammock and it was very well used so to speak. Also my room door had a huge hole near the door... More

We got a room for the three of us going down a weekend for my birthday and you get what you'd expect for the money! The room was clean and basic but the beds were so uncomfortable like camp beds! The location also wasn't ideal for going into town as its the other side of the water so we had... More
