We stayed here for one night before the Great North Run. There are a lot of good points - the public areas of the hotel are very comfortable and well-furnished, the gardens are huge and there is a good amount of car parking. If you're travelling here by train it's about a £9 taxi ride from Newcastle. The staff are... more

Boutique chic it aint but slightly shabby, country house style it has in bags. This makes it homely, like your favourite, well-worn cardigan. My husband has stayed here many times as he often has business in Newcastle but this time he brought me. All the rooms are named after trees and we were in Lilac which was roomy and bright... more

A group of seventeen of us stayed at the Hotel the first weekend of November to attend a Submarine Remembrance Service in Blyth. When I booked I asked if they could provide a room for us to have a privated dinner on the first night of our stay. This was done and the meal and service was absolutely excellent. The... more

Staff were excellent, always helpful and attentive. There was a wedding at the hotel on the Sunday, but the standard of service never slipped. I... more

We booked the family room for 4 women that were travelling down from Scotland and as this was my first time staying in Gateshead, the hotel looked nice on the website and very reasonably priced at £99.50 for the 4 of us. Most other hotels in the area were upwards of £40 each. On arrival, we were advised that the... more

What a great hotel! Very relaxing, staff are lovely and the room was cosy. We ate in the restaurant which has a good reputation in it's own right and were not disappointed, food was excellent and a very good range even within the set menu which we have found not to be the case elsewhere. There is a nice lounge... more

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now, and have never been disappointed. The hotel is very inviting, and the staff always polite and helpful. The food is excellent, I have never been disappointed, and have been here for lunch as well. The table d'hote menu for £14.95 (2 courses) at lunch is amazing, and cannot be beaten... more
