This should be reviewed in 2 ways , one as a pub /restaurant and secondly as a hotel. As a pub its good , good food , good atmosphere ,good beer, friendly staff etc. As a hotel it's a disaster , I stayed because it was convenient and I was by myself if my wife had been there we would... More

Lovely Staff and really friendly locals. the food was a little to be desired, but the beer was good! the room was very scruffy, clutter stuffed in many cupboards - we was woken up horrifically early with the sound of the kitchen extractor fan that was fixed directly to the outside of out room wall a defining Hum that left... My family travelled to Newcastle for a football match. There was 6 of us so finding a good price accommodation was difficult. I came across the Plough Inn. It was reasonably priced so i book it. The rooms were clean but not but about them. There was a mix up with our rooms. We need two rooms to fit three... More

I popped in with my wife and Grand daugher on a spur of the moment thing. Staff and location were very warm and welcoming. I ordered the Burger and my wife opted for the Mushroom Crepes, we also asked what was available for our 6 month old Grand Daughter and were offered Mince and potatoes which was promptly brought out... Fantastic stay and would highly recommend this place to stay. Would definitely return here. Staff were really friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely too and there was no rush to leave our room either. Overall very impressed with the place and easy to find

My husband and I gave ourselves a treat by going to the Plough Inn for tea. Although the staff were very busy setting up for a Charity Event taking place tomorrow it did not affect the great service we received. Food hot, tasty and not too long to wait, even though the food is cooked as it is ordered. Staff... More

I had booked just one night here so we could spend more time at Beamish Museum. To be honest, I didn't expect much for £50, the stair carpet and handrails leading up to the rooms are grubby, but the room itself was spacious and had the essentials. I was however disappointed that there was no mattress protector or pillow protectors,... More

My partner and I had never been to this restaurant and this is the first time I have ever written a trip advisor review. I would just like to say that the food was amazing! Served at the perfect temperature, well presented and most importantly, it tasted great. The service was second to none, the lady behind the bar (wish... More

Just had a lovely lunch - food was gorgeous and service great with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. A great menu for lunch or evening, something for everyone and great value too. A visit essential! We have been for both evening meal and lunchtime and no faults for either.

This place is a hidden gem ... New owners have really brought the place up to scratch while keeping the charm of the original features. Menu choice is regularly changed and we've never had a bad meal. Staff are very attentive and there's always a warm welcome with a roaring fire! Love the fact that dogs are welcome, would not...
