Went for food one saturday afternoon. Food arrived with no cutlery, I was told knives and forks were at the bar but weren't. I asked the barmaid and I was blanked. I had to go to a unused table and take there's. Chicken ticka masala(microwave meal) was absolutely stone cold. Chefs special pulled pork sandwich was obviously another microwave special,... More

Arriving at the hotel in a housing estate and a large open empty carpark, makes you a little unease. The door from the carpark is not in use so have to use the side entrance, bit of a pain when you have heavy luggage. However a nice greeting from the receptionist asked if they are cooking food tonight only to... More

We stopped at Sutherland for two nights. The room was beautiful, big, tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order, which is much better than a buffet breakfast where the bacon has been sitting for hours. I will be booking here in the future. Thanks all it was great... Booked a table for twelve at twelve o clock, when we booked the question was asked did we have to vacate the table by a certain time, we were told no as we were on a table down the wall, this was not the case, we were asked just after one when we were leaving as the table was needed,... More

Stayed here while on a stag do in Newcastle. Excellent large contemporary and comfortable clean rooms with free wifi. Excellent value for money with very friendly staff, would definitely recommend. A good cooked breakfast in the morning. A decent pub downstairs which caters for a wide range of people, including soft play for kids, sports on the TV, food and... More

Large party of 18 went for lunch on 2 January. Service was diabolical. 2 hours to get a Panini......definitely not recommended. We were told they had a new chef...he did not seem to know what he was doing as the food did not come out the way it was ordered. We were told the orders had been mixed up. Food... More

Would just like to apologise for your unfortunate experience whilst visiting our Hotel on the 2nd January 2014. Unfortunately this was due to exceptional circumstances. On that day in question we had 4 staff off sick one being admitted to hospital. Both of our chefs did not turn up for work either. The Manager tried his best to maintain service... More
