We recently booked a three night stay at this hotel and were looking forward to it. However the room we were allocated (The Risedale) was nothing like the room on the website. It was extremely small and very disappointing. The food was good and the room was clean but really that was all I could say about it.

I booked this hotel as a hopeful treat for my girlfriend. I thought it had good reviews and good cooking with its claimed "2 master chefs", and would be worth a premium price of over £100 a room per night (London prices!?). However, it felt like a glorified B&B, with hints of Fawlty Towers. PROBLEMS :- * Arriving, the car-park... More

Having read the reviews for this hotel we were looking forward to a weekend stay. On arrival service was slow, we had to ring a 'buzzer' and were kept waiting longer than you would normally expect of a hotel. The room was on the small size but very clean and comfortable. We eventually got the wifi to work - which... More

We stayed for 3 nights and the staff were throughly lovely and helpful but when i brought up the issue of the WIFI he rolled his eyes and just said it was "Temperamental" and signal was "Poor at best" as it was a longterm problem they were having and the supplied password didn't even work. I had some work to... More

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend break, and Andrea, the owner and chef could not have been more welcoming. Everything was spotlessly clean, the room comfortable (although the en suite was a bit on the small side). Food was excellent. The breakfasts especially worth note with a wide choice and all top quality ingredients. The breads and rolls... More

We stayed at this hotel based on reviews and can say it did live up to expectations and very well situated for visiting Cartmel racecourse. Happy atmosphere in bar in the evening only eat snacks so can not comment on restaurant.

I sayed at The Lymehurst for 3 nights and dined there twice. The car park and terrace above are festooned with lovely flowers making the terrace at the front of the hotel a very pleasant, restful place for drinks and nibbles in the late afternoon sunshine. Grange is a quiet town so there's very little traffic noise. The double bedroom... More

Just returned from a visit to The Lymehurst and was not impressed. Manager slow to appear on arrival and book us in and that was the attitude for the rest of the weekend. She was not very friendly and if you asked for anything it took ages to arrive and was just left outside your door. The room was very... More

We recently booked 7 rooms for our party - and while most were happy with their rooms, our room "cartmel" was very small, for 2 nights and not spending much time in our room it was ok but the bathroom was very claustrophobic. The bar staff and breakfast staff were brilliant but returning on sat pm at 9.15pm after a... More

Enjoyed our stay at The Lymehurst. Rooms spacious, if a little too warm, but a handy fan in the wardrobe helped a lot! Loving the heated bathroom floors though. A real bonus. Plus being presented with a flask of fresh milk each day was a top touch, as were the make up remover wipes in the bathrooms. Personally, I really... More
