This was like stepping back in time in the nicest possible way. A former mansion dating back to the 18th Century, with panelling by Waring and Gillow of Lancaster, the famous cabinet makers. Set back from the main road with a terrace leading down to a very large lawn and surrounded by woodland, this hotel had a wonderful view of... More

Stayed at the Netherwood hotel last Saturday night after booking the room earlier in the year for a wedding there. What a disappointment the room was! Room 5, we were charged the cheaper rate of £130 as we were part of the wedding party, (it should have been £160) - it was dated, the bed was not fit for purpose,... More

We attended for a friends wedding. It's a lovely place and very laid back - for what is perceived to be a "posh" hotel i was pleased to see dogs were allowed and quite a few guests had dogs with them - all on leads. The staff were brilliant and very helpful, also efficient and attentive. The meal was gorgeous,... More

We live locally and went to try out the leisure club and pool. It was so disappointing. The changing rooms fit 2 people in and no more. The floor was dirty and full of hair. There was a dead fly in the showers of the men's changing room. Once in the pool, the water was cloudy, you couldn't see the... More

Visited for lunch recently, withmy father, who is wheelchair bound. Another member of our party had called ahead to check for accessibility and was told it was all fine. When we arrived, we had to ask three different mebers of staff to find out where the disabled loos were - nobody seemed to know the answer and we were actually... More

From private functions to bar snacks the Netherwood never disappoints. The manager is always friendly and helpful and eager to ensure that everything has been to your satisfaction. The staff are always cheerful and sensitive to the needs of all the customers, ( many elderly customers are regulars here) and the hotel obviously has a good chef. The atmosphere is... More

Just returned from relaxing and enjoyable weekend at the Netherwood for family get together. Hotel looks impressive as you approach - service and food matched expectations. Our room was large and we'd requested a cot bed which was in room as expected. Rooms were spotless with decent shower. We ate in the main restaurant on the Friday - food was... More

Stayed for family lunch. We had use of the library for 10 of us. Very dark and claustrophobic. There was a wedding on the same day so the toilets right next door were out of use so we had to use the other at the other end of the hotel. The lunch menu was poor, very limited (4 options per... More

Beautiful place in lovely grounds..staff are welcoming, helpful and a big part of what makes this a lovely stay. Room could benefit from redecoration but views are fabulous. WiFi and phone signal very poor but found that helped with relaxing!
