We arrived late but were still offered food from the menu which was much appreciated after a four hour journey in the car from Solihull! The food is of a surprising quality - very good indeed. Would recommend to anyone taking a dog to the lakes for a holiday, ideal location and would certainly return.

Stayed at the end of January 2014. Never stayed in an establishment less than 4 star so was a bit wary of what I would find.Outside was quite scruffy - lots of dead plants and a bit of rubbish - and the inside at first glance was not much better. There was however a very warm welcome and our room... More

We stayed here for three days and was really impressed . The Room was lovely and the staff friendly . The hotel itself is stunning with open fires . Breakfast was really nice with choices ranging from cereal to salmon. My only regret is that we didn't walk round they grounds as they really are stunning.

Tilly (spaniel) and I (Airedale)had a weekend break with our humans at this lovely welcoming hotel. Great breakfasts, comfortable beds (so the humans said)and most importantly dog friendly owners. Will definitely take the humans back again. Harvey the Airedale.

Booked this just to spend a couple of days with my daughter, mum and our dog in the lakes. The hotel was easy to find and let us have our room straight away. We checked in and the room was lovely decorated and had all amenities we needed. Spent the day walking on the prom which we all enjoyed. Not... More

My partner and I and our three small dogs stayed here for a couple of nights after New Year. I loved it. We ate in the bar (the dogs were allowed in there with us) on the first night. The food was scrumptious. The veggie was really well thought out and there was plenty of choice for my partner who... More

Were shall we take Dad on New Year? Dad is 92 and a master cabinet maker, ex Warring and Gillows. He was in the RAF in the war and he's a bit of a character. We took him to Hampsfell House. We live close by in Grange. We had our New Year's Eve dinner there and saw the New Year... More

We've just got back from a two night stay at Hampsfell House Hotel and we have to say it was excellent. The room was lovely with the added bonus of the hotel allowing us to take our dog to stay with us. The decor of the hotel is lovely with a real quirkiness about it. The best part....the food which... Very pleasant stay on a walking trip with our dog in this comfortable hotel. Friendly staff and a great breakfast. A handy location on the outskirts of this pleasant town. We would definitely stay there again.

Went for a meal last Saturday with friends. There were 6 of us and one of the party members Birthday. They had decorated the table for us which was a lovely touch. we had 2 courses as couldn't eat a pudding. Food was delicious. Will most certainly be returning.
