This was our second stay at this lovely little gem. We arrived very early..about an hour before booking in time as the traffic was unexpectedly light..but the owner was happy to let us leave our bags in the room. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable, the service was warm and efficient, and the breakfast was... More

Stayed one night for a short break - the room was good - clean and with everything you need, including a four poster bed - food was really yummy, staff friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would say - and this applies to all hotels - is please provide bath sheets instead of baths towels, they don't cost much... More

The location is stunning. Situated on the edge of the Lake District, with a view of a very close coast. The hotel is beautiful, with very welcoming staff. The rooms were pleasant and the food and drink served were delightful. The reason I've only given 4 stars as opposed to 5 is the bed itself (room number 7) we felt... More

A lovely homely hotel with very good accomodation. The meals are excellent with plenty choice of home cooked food. Beautiful grounds with pleasant views. Friendly welcoming staff. Only about a 10 inute walk from the town centre and station.

We stayed here for two nights, - a bit of a departure for us as we normally prefer the larger hotels however we did enjoy our stay. The hotel is very comfortable and has a lovely setting. The rooms are not modern at all but that adds to the character. Don't expect all mod cons because thats not what Hampsfell... More

A lovely family run hotel which is set in its own grounds a little out of Grange, good choice of food with a reasonable bar. Downside there is no mobile signal that we could find and its a good walk into town being mainly downhill but a real heart tester on the way back. A great base from which to... More

We recently stayed at Hampsfell House Hotel for three nights. We stopped there overnight a few years ago, when we were with friends and en-route to Scotland. We wanted to spend a few days in the Lakes so we returned as we enjoyed it before. We found the same family running the hotel and the food was still excellent. We... More

We occasionally go here for a meal, as we live in Grange. The family who run the hotel are excellent, as is the food. It is very comfortable & there are lots of interesting antiques & pictures. They, also have an antique shop in the High Street. The hotel is well worth a visit despite it's location so far out... More

Hotel itself is as described - no frills, evidenced by my husband and I having to share one water glass between the two of us in our room! The staff were pretty disinterested in general - we spent about 45 minutes trying to order a taxi on the first night from a list where 50% of the numbers were out... More

Words fail me with your review 1 there are actually three glasses in your room had you required another glass I am sure we could have found you one. 2 My daughter spent 30 minutes helping you with your taxi on a very busy weekend evening 3 you returned from the races and were served with two glasses of wine...
