This is a lovely traditional B & B, conveniently situated a few minutes walk from the train station. The owners Lyn & Liam were lovely hosts and couldn't do enough to make my stay enjoyable. The room I had was lovely and bright with a great view over the garden, ideal for watching the wildlife. Breakfast was very good with... More

lovely warm welcome at this characterful B&B which was right on our cycle route and garage storage for our bikes. Lovely clean and comfortable room and also the use of a large lounge. The breakfast was super, lots of choice, we opted for the freshly cooked full English (with the addition of a couple of chocolate cakes packed up for... More

This guest house has 7 rooms which have a unique character and appeal to historical and cultural stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful and a real pleasure to chat with. The breakfast was a high standard and the rooms were very spacious, clean, comfy and all amenienties were provided. The views of the back garden and in the... More

This is a guest house. Traditional décor. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfasts, including a sausage for our dog! We would stay at this guest house again, if we are in the area.

The owners were friendly and welcoming, and went out of their way to be helpful when they heard our plans. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the decor was neutral...but who goes to a small establishment like this and wants everything on-trend? The breakfast was fine, the hot food cooked to order, and a request for a... More

This was my third stay at Elton House. Charles and Joanne were as friendly and welcoming as ever and we enjoyed a nice quiet stay after a busy weekend in Scotland. Some of the reviews criticise the decor and facilities. Yes, Elton House does seem old fashioned, but the rooms and bathrooms are clean and the breakfast is delicious. Brilliant... More

Step back forty or fifty years and you're there....it all needs updating but I guess they can keep their rates low because they are not spending. They don't even accept credit or debit cards ; cash or cheques only.....who uses cheques these days! The room was adequate, but it had a silly little caravan type kettle which took ages to... More

I spent 2 nights at the b&b and I have never slept so well! It was incredibly peaceful and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely (with seconds offered) and set us up for lots of walking around the lakes and local area. The owners made us feel very welcome and even rang me to say I'd left my... More

We have stayed here for the last six years and have never been able to find fault, we have just returned after the wettest week imginable, but we were well looked after, warm and dry, also enjoyed the sandwiches, scones, and brandies In the evenings, may joanne and charles go on for many more years. We regard them as our... More
