We have just returned from another stay at Greenacres and I cannot praise it enough! Everything about this wonderful Guest House is lovely, from the colour-co-ordinated bathrooms with Villeroy & Boch towels, the comfortable beds, together with all the little finishing touches (such as fresh biscuits, choice of teas, china cups or mugs - both supplied, you choose - cotton... We have been coming here every year for the last seven years. You will not find a more welcoming guest house in the South Lakes area. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. You even get an evening delivery of fresh milk for tea making! The breakfasts are excellent with local produce used and really set you... More

That's what we love... satisfied guests who are happy to return year after year. Thank you again for coming to stay, and we're pleased that our area is still dealing up new places of interest for such 'seasoned' guests as you! We've never got tired of serving up the best standards we are capable of. We only want our guests... More

Plus points? Attentive hosts, full size 'box fresh' bathroom (as opposed to the usual B&B make do 'cupboards') walk in wardrobe, brilliant generous freshly cooked breakfasts (probably the best I have ever had and we have travelled extensively) and on free site spacious parking which is a bonus in Grange. All in all fantastic value for money. It was that... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your kind review. You were most welcome, and as with all guests who leave Lindale satisfied, pleased that Grange over Sands dealt up some happy memories of past times spent here. It's such a dear little town, and we have some super things going on all season for visitors to take in,... More

We certainly found a gem in Greenacres Country Guest House. Having been on a "B&B" 5 night break, this was certainly our best find. Sue and Phil were ready to greet us with a cuppa and home made scones. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were exceptionally clean and tidy and the food delicious. We'll definitely recommend them to... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your kind review. We'd love you to come back, but for longer next time if possible! We apply discounted rates for 3 or more nights and 5 or more nights. There's easily enough to see and do for a lengthier stay, and although we do not offer evening meals, our best pub... More

Greenacres is a first class establishment, spotlessly clean with hospitality from the owners Phil and Sue at its best. Their local knowledge is a real help, nothing is to much trouble and they go out of their way to make your stay as memorable as possible. Please try this establishment, you will not be disappointed. Many thanks to Phil and... More

What can we say, but "thank you" for taking the time to book with us and to write this review. We are always grateful, even if we don't get round to responding immediately they are posted. Having satisfied guests who can recommend our services to other potential guests is what we are about. We still have a couple of rooms... More

Lovely location. Lovely friendly, warm hosts. Phil and Sue could not do enough for us during our 3 night stay at their beautiful guest house. The breakfast was delicious, superbly presented - try the Morecambe Bay Special!!... food cooked freshly and 'tailor -made' A lovely touch was fresh milk provided every evening - so welcome after a full day out.... Thank you to you both for this kind review. We loved having you at Greenacres! Regarding your breakfast choice - well, our Morecambe Bay shrimps are a local delicacy. I buy them from a long established Morecambe Bay shrimp fishing family from Flookburgh, Ian McClure, they have to be the best, and I serve them with creamy, scrambled Windermere Free... More

Great to hear your review from your stay in April. So good of you to find the time, inbetween your busy schedules training and enjoying the outdoors, down in Essex, where we moved up from, nearly 8 years ago to come and run Greenacres. We have close family in the village, so that was a draw! We were so excited... More

Despite a rainy day for your Wainwright walk nearby, you were kind enough to post this review for us, many thanks. We do have drying facilities for walkers' wet gear, but rarely need it - honestly! What a great couple Sue and Phil are. Very welcoming and always ready with advice and help regarding the area. The standard of the rooms is excellent and the breakfast second to none. There are excellent restaurants and pubs nearby, and easy access to the Lakes make this a very good location for a visit. Go and Enjoy

Really glad you had a comfy stay. We know you enjoyed the tasty Lancashire mushrooms ( how good mushrooms should taste!) and the lovely Blackpool tomatoes which we cannot get too many of right now. Luckily they are available until October, so no worries about running out for our discerning guests' breakfasts! More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Greenacres is an authentic 18th-century Cumbrian cottage, formerly the village police station. Situated on the B5277 in the pretty village of Lindale on the beautiful Cartmel Peninsula to the south of the Lake District National Park. Lindale has two welcoming local pubs, serving real ales and highly recommended meals. Greenacres is now better known as a quality four-star guesthouse with friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. The Edwardian resort of Grange over Sands, with its mile long promenade, is two miles away; the southern shores of Lake Windermere only six miles away. An ideal base from which to explore the Lakes. The nearby sands of Morecambe Bay are a twitcher’s delight with a wide range wildfowl and shorebirds. The popular Cross Bay Walks draw tens of thousands of walkers each summertime. Our warm Lakeland welcome includes afternoon tea and freshly baked home made cakes. Guests may relax in the conservatory and reading room, or watch TV in bedrooms. Additionally each room is provided with an off-street free and private parking space within our grounds. ... more   less
