3 young 60/70 year old couples with 4 of them having birthdays within a few days of each other have celebrated together for 7/8 years now. A surfing of the web for accommodation for a Saturday night in the Rutland/Leics./Lincs. area suggested that the Cholmeley Arms at Burton Coggles looked right and was it! An absolutely terriffic visit! The 4... More

The friendliness of the welcome of this pub/restaurant set a great tone from the start. We stayed with two dogs, who were made as welcome as we were! Not only the owner, but all of the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a relaxed stay. The room was great - clean, well equipped and with... More

The one thing that sets The Cholmeley Arms apart from every other pub B&B is the absolutely genuine welcome you get. Yes the rooms are good, the food is very good and the small country pub atmosphere is wonderful but you can say that about countless places. The really special feature of this place is the landlord and landlady who... More

This was the 1st time my husband and I had visited the Cholmeley Arms. We thought we had booked a night in Cockle Holt, a dog free room- we have no dog and always choose pet-free accommodation for reasons of cleanliness and allergies. However on arrival we were shown to Parsons Holt which permits dogs and despite querying it we... More

We have four rooms two dog friendly and two not, although they are very thoroughly cleaned and you would not know, but some people have allergies so we keep to the two dog free rooms. So on arrival you stipulated you wanted a dog free room (not requested on booking) so we moved you to Parsons Holt which is a... More

My mother and I stayed here in September with our Labrador dog. The comfortable modern, en-suite bedrooms were conveniently situated on the ground floor in an annexe next to a large pleasant grassed area, which can be used for exercising a dog or sitting outside, (there is also a covered area with your own private patio furniture, if the weather... I had a meeting in the local area and, rather than stay in a soulless chain hotel, had a look on Google Maps and found the Cholmeley. Checked out the website and decided to book. Unfortunately I didn't arrive until about 21h30, about an hour after the kitchen had closed, and so I had grabbed something en-route to make sure... More

What a wonderful few days we had at this very comfortable pub. I am so pleased we found it . The rooms being outside are modern with some lovely touches, the food is out of this world , so fresh & hot. The whole atmosphere is relaxing & welcoming. We will definitely be back.

We booked only a few months ago at this venue as we were in the area for Burghley Horse Trials. Booking was easy and website great. We travelled up in Friday traffic so called to explain we'd arrive later than hoped. Staff were relaxed and welcoming on arrival, kitchen stayed open and cooked an amazing meal with huuge portions! Rooms... More
