Arrived to stay overnight, got shown to a room outside, door opened By staff who then left us. No explanation about breakfast or dining on the evening. The room was freezing. Stayed 10 minutes and decided to leave. My wife suffers with arthritis and could not cope with the cold room and low standards. I complained and said we would... More

Would highly recommend staying at the Chequers Inn. It is a very pretty well decorated pub which serves a wide array of drinks including some delicious cocktails, great food menu and best of all, lovely peaceful accommodation. The Loft room was very well designed with a fantastic bathroom.

Just celebrated my Husband's 70th Birthday with family and friends for Sunday Lunch. Couldn't fault it! Everyone enjoyed it. We had the Garden Room to ourselves, which was lovley and the food was great.

We took advantage of the Sunday night deal, where you paid £35/person for the room so long as you had a 3 course meal from our a la carte menu. We were in the loft room (no 4) which was lovely. There were rooms at the £10/person which looked equally nice online. The meal was delicious, my husbands steak looked... More

I will not only be returning when working in the area again but will... More

Stayed here for one night as had to be in Nottingham the following day. What a gorgeous pub this is - would love it as my local. Fabulous array of drinks, including a great range of summer cocktails at the time of our visit. Dinner in the restaurant was a delicious treat. Chateaubriand was especially good. We were staying on... More

I went there in the winter with my daughter, son in law, a springer spaniel and a standard poodle. The dog walking from the pub car park is excellent. The pub is old with a large woodburner, one main bar/ restaurant and other small side rooms. We took the dogs in with us and they behaved perfectly, under the table out of sight,...
