First impressions were great with excellent service, from Dominic and the ladies serving breakfast. We stayed for four nights. Best breakfasts of our two weeks in Scotland along with a fine dinner on the first night of our stay. Which is what I would expect for the prices charged. Location was peaceful. The only negative for us was the room... more

We wanted a quick break and chose the £150 package which included 2 courses for dinner. Many hotels have a seperate, cheaper menu for deals like this but not Muckrach - the menu is the same for everyone and the food is fantastic. we had grouse and lobster! The room was small but looks very new, has loevely views over... more

My wife and I stayed at Muckrach Lodge for the first time last week, having passed it many times on business travelling between the west and east coasts. Usually I undertake accommodation booking but this time my wife did. After she had booked I read the Tripadvisor reviews and had some doubts as to whether I would have booked myself.... more

My husband and i stayed at Muckrach Lodge on 26 and 27th August with our Jack Russell dog. We were warmly welcomed and given a delightfully decorated room overlooking the garden. We ate at the lodge both evenings and had some of the best food during our two week holiday in Scotland. The scrabster lobster was delicious! Breakfast was sumptious,... more

We ended up here for two nights when our hotel in Daviot denied all knowledge of us and our booking at 5pm on a Saturday in August. On the plus side we had a helpful welcome from a young member of staff, Dominic, and great service from him and another staff member, Helen. Dinner was good but breakfast was below... more

Dominic, Helen and all the staff are mortified that your room was the wrong colour. We make every effort to ascertain guests' tonal requirements before their arrival, and note that in this instance that part of the booking process was not adhered to. The Bed and Breakfast rate of £67.50 per person per night is not excessive, and neither is...

My friends and I were greeted upon arrival at Muckrach Lodge by the utterly charming owners, who made us feel thoroughly at home. The atmosphere of the lobby, we soon discovered, encompassed the atmosphere of the whole hotel: warm, friendly and with tartan carpets. My room was impeccably clean, generously sized and very comfortable. The hotel only has 12 rooms,... more

We stayed at Muckrach last year, and it was very pleasant. Although we're not the sort who generally post reviews, we just had to comment on our recent return there. The rooms were clean, and the superior room we had was big, spacious and comfortable. The food however, was absolutely amazing, and a hundred times better than last year. There... more

We did not stay at the hotel, only dined in restaurant. The atmosphere was fabulous: the surrounding gardens were beautiful and easily enjoyed through the glass walls of the dining room. The wait staff was very attentive. The food was very fresh, but the fish and steak were a little overcooked. more

We had a superb dinner and breakfast- a real stand out in terms of our stay. Our room was a little 'dusty' and perhaps the hotel as a whole would appreciate an interior designer colour scheme make over, (admittedly a very personal opinion) but we we couldn't fault our welcome. And it's in a great location for things to do. more
