Room was spacious with comfortable bed and tartan touches on curtains and bedcover. The en-suite was basic but clean. The restaurant was positioned with a good view, and the food was good. The bar and lounge were very relaxing. We travelled with a group on a tour, and stayed for 3 nights. There were some lovely walks nearby. more

We stayed here while on an organised train/coach holiday. The hotel has undergone a great deal of refurbishment, and infact is not completed as yet, no curtains/pictures in public areas. The reception area is lovely, bright, clean and tastefully decorated. Our bedroom was freshly painted with a firm clean bed, a brand new shower in the (over heated) bathroom. The... more

I arranged a group stay (around thirty rooms) at the hotel, and we had it pretty-much to ourselves. I had read the reviews already posted and was a little apprehensive at the prospect of the stay, but it turned out to be perfectly acceptable... to me at least. The staff were brilliant, and helped us at every turn. Admittedly without... more

I booked a round trip in Scotland and the travel agent choosed the Craiglynne Hotel. Because of the mixed reviews in Trip Advisor I was courious to see the hotel with my own eyes. Let me say it right away: I liked this hotel very much. It is charming, clean and comfortable. The temperature in the room was perfect. I... more

Before I set off last week I read two of the most negative reports possible about this my short break with some trepidation. When I arrived at the hotel, we were allocated a clean twin room on the ground floor which suited us very well. We were also welcomed with tea and scones which suited us very well too. I... more

This hotel was a little old fashioned and looked a wee bit tired in places, but was clean and adequate. The staff were excellent and could not do enough for you. They were always smilling and assisting folk when necessary. Nothing was too much bother for them. The food was varied and excellent, with lots of traditional Scottish dishes on... more

Had the misfortune to book this hotel. This beautiful building is a disgrace inside. All communual areas and the room that they expected us to stay in were in need of a good clean and a lick of paint. . The room was like a cell and the bathroom was likened to something out of a 1970's style caravan. The... more

Upon arriving at the hotel we were impressed by the frontage and looked forward to the continued luxury inside, we were to be very disappointed! Having booked a double room we were dismayed to find ourselves in a twin this was only the beginning of the problems. The en suite facilities were housed in what can only be described as... more

I had the pleasure of a one night stay here with my husband and young grandson. The triple room had everything we needed. Huge, clean and cosy room overlooking the lovely gardens and pond at the front of the hotel. Huge bathroom with bath and shower. Staff were unobtrusive but on hand if needed, and friendly and efficient. Meals were... more

My wife and I stayed there 13th to 17th Feb and had a great time.Lovely room and great food. The East continental waiting staff are a brilliant lot and nothing is to much trouble for them. They also seem to possess a great sense of humour which added to the enjoyment of meal times. I also thought the bar prices... more
