This was my 2nd stay at this hotel & I found it even more enjoyable than my 1st! It was a last minute booking made over then phone only a day & a half before I was due to arrive & the staff couldn't have been more helpful reassuring me that a room would be available for me on my... more

The Carlton is a Shearing's Hotel and like other Shearing's hotels that I have stayed in is old, tired and in need of refurbishment. Staff are mainly foreign some of them could not be understood but they were polite. This was the third time that I have stayed here and it will probably be the last. The five day stay... more

Just returned from a five day tour with WA shearings staying at this hotel. The single room that I was allocated was a bit on the small side but that is to be expected with singles but very comfortable and clean, The staff which were I believe in majority to be Portugese were very helpfull and couldn't do enough for... more

The hotel is right on Great Yarmouth sea front, so great location for the beach and promenade. The hotel had an elderly clientele, but this was February and at only £25.00 per night, half board, was excellent value. The food was very good both at breakfast and dinner. The rooms were clean and warm. The entertainment was not all that,... more

Introduction We stayed at this hotel in April, after reading of a Shearings special offer in the Sunday papers. In understanding the hotels quality and service it has to be positioned against the costs - which are around £35pppn half board, with entertainment. i.e. cheap! The Hotel is grand and kept in good condition - but the decor is past... more

We booked a Shearing Self Drive weekend break 23rd/26th March. The Carlton is quite large and failrly old but it has been tastefully decorated and is certainly better presented than the other Shearings hotels we have stayed at. Situated directly opposite the Wellington pier is has an ideal location and the free, on street parking next to the hotel was... more
