Answer: When you squeeze a double bed into it and call it a double. We arrived at this hotel on Friday afternoon and checked in. Our room was up a lot of stairs, so many that when we got to our room and found it disappointingly small we almost didn't bother to ask to have it changed. What made my... More

Positives: Great location, opposite Halifax train station, close to Eureka children's museum, and a short walk to the city centre. Great reception and restaurant service. Quality of food in the Wallace Simpson restaurant was excellent. Free WiFi for as many devices as you have with you. Negatives: Be careful in the evening - the usual riff-raff hanging round the train... More

Lovely welcome from the man on reception (sorry didnt get his name). Hotel was very nice and is just across the road from the train station. We got a good sized twin bedroom, shower good with plenty of hot water, clean, mattress was a bit odd felt like the old coil springs but comfy once you had settled down. Breakfast... More

It's location is perfect for the business traveller as it is fairly central and almost opposite the train station. However, upon stepping inside the positivity fades almost immediately. I was greeted on my first day by a lady that seemed more worried about me "doing a runner" than she did making me feel comfortable and welcome. I headed up to... More

Arrived in Halifax after a long journey to discover this hotel was very conveniently placed near the train station. The Hotel was clean, pleasant and very comfortable. The Room was a bit to warm, to open the windows you had to deal with street noise. The staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was very tasty but a... More

We were attending a family function at the hotel and my uncle had booked us in for the night. We found the car parking quite puzzling - the car park is opposite behind a former nightclub, but the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very dated but we could see that improvements were being made. There was... More

This made my stay, small, marmite portions were available for breakfast - perfect on hot buttered toast - and set me up for the day! The location is superb, as soon as as I came out of the train station I could see the hotel. At night it isn't noisy as the hotel is on the edge of the town... More

We had a family event in the area and booked here for location and value. We weren't expecting much so were pleasantly surprised. The girl on reception was friendly and helpful - efficiently checked in 10 of us in minutes. The rooms are dated but comfortable and clean. The staff were great - especially the barman - and took care... More

Car park hard to find and consists of a walk across a busy main road, not on site! Receptionist very rude! Guy behind the bar very helpful! The set up of the hotel all seemed a little strange there were a group of lots people in the bar area operating hearing tests within the hotel!!?? We looked briefly at the... More
