Our room was spacious and clean but let down badly by the wet room. The shower was barely lukewarm and the slow drainage meant that the whole room was quickly awash. Oh our first morning we did not have any hot water in the hand basin either (the manager disputed this and claimed it was fine when he checked it!)... more

I am writing this review using the hotel's free internet access which is one very good thing. However, I am writing because I am still waiting for them to come and fix the air conditioning, which they said they were sending someone up for half an hour ago. I am tired and want to go to bed but it is... more

Stayed here for a 2 night weeekend break which included dinner on the 1st night in the price. Good location, quiet and peaceful surroundings. A wedding was held on the Friday and the Saturday which meant service was not wonderful. Room was adequate with nice view, bed comfortable, no shower cap in bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities provided. Old... more

I went to this hotel not through choice as I was on a course for 2 days staying overnight. The reception was pleasant enough and the staff hospitable. The refreshments between classroom sessions were good. The gym facilities were a little basic and busy (1830hrs- 1930hrs). The evening meal (set menu which we selected at lunch) was excellent - could... more

We stayed on a Saturday night, the leisure facilities are ok for a couple of hours relaxation, the bar prices are reasonable. We did not eat there as there was a wedding on,we had a couple of drinks in the bar in the afternoon and went to The Ship Inn,just across the water, lovely food. Only downside was wanting a drink at the... more

A group of us stayed here for 3 nights as our base for Goodwood races. The hotel has been recently refurbished and is very modern. Good points - Spacious modern room, courteous staff, fair priced drinks, great leisure facilities, free newspapers Down side - Slightly disorganised dining / breakfast room which we put down to not having enough staff on... more

Having spent 4 years in Portsmouth but never having gotten over the Hayling Island imagine my surprise to find this good quality hotel just over the water. The public areas are well laid out and spacious, and the rooms are comfortable. I;d definitely stay here again, but due to the price only for special occasions more

We booked this hotel with late rooms for 2 nights. The rooms are very clean and pleasant but a bit worn. Our room was next to the outside air conditioning units . It was noisy so for the second night we asked to be moved to another room. This had a view of a tree and so the room was... more

There's no question that the recent £2.5m. refurbishment has made the Langstone one of the most attractive modern hotels on the South Coast with almost every facility for your comfort and convenience built in. What is lacking is any sense of old-style hotel care for the individual client. Emphasis is on the bottom line and if that means catering for... more
