We got married at the hotel on 19th July 2014. From the time we booked the wedding 18 month earlier we had great service from the hotel, especially Carol who co-ordinates the weddings. The overall price for the wedding was very good and almost half what the 'large' hotel chains charge for similar packages. The Manor Suite, which is a... More

I took my partner on a spur of the moment to go and have something to eat on Sunday . For the first time since we have been together, which is 5 years, we have never been out for Sunday lunch as I work most Sundays and may I say what a great meal we have just had. The service... More

We saw four rooms. The first two were on the ground floor with little or no daylight and right by the car park. The second was bright and airy but it was on the main road and the double bed was only a tiny 4'6" (wide). The third was the honeymoon suite in which the cheap bed had a thin... More

I booked this beautiful venue over a year ago for my wedding reception and the whole way through to the day last Friday (1st Aug) Carol, who deals with wedding bookings, has been an absolute rock. Nothing is too much to ask or too silly to ask, everything is about you and that's exactly how she makes you feel. Carol... More

We recently attended the Newtown House Hotel for our friends wedding reception. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and handed reception drinks. The food was lovely and the service was prompt, we asked for a highchair and it was no trouble. Throughout the meal the staff were attentive without smothering and during the speeches were on hand with... More

My best friend got married on 1st august and had her wedding reception at the newtown - I cannot fault the venue, the atmosphere nor the outstanding service of the staff, in particular Carole and Jamie on the day. As maid of honour, I cannot thank carole enough for being there for both bride and groom, you certainly made my... More

Booked a room for a wedding in the hotel , Got to our room and must say it was very small and think they forgot to set our room up , After finding the tea, coffee and kettle in the wardrobe , along with Tesco receipts left by the last people , Went into bathroom to find a plastic bath... More

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding in the area. We missed the entrance first time as in/out was slightly unclear. Large hotel, with nice outside seating area and plenty of parking. Room was dated and a bit basic for what paid. Room was noisy from another wedding held there, double glazing may be a good idea for comfort of all... More

I am glad you had a lovely stay at the hotel and thank you for your comments regarding your stay. We note your comment regarding double glazing but as you can imagine being a listed building we are restricted on what we are permitted to do to the structure and require listed buildings permission. With regard to expensive drinks I... More

My stay at the hotel was fine as was the dinner and breakfast I had whilst there. I had flown from Australia and went straight from Heathrow to Hayling with only three hours sleep on the flight. I went to bed about 10.30pm and understandably crashed but was woken at 3.00am by some fellow guests ( I use the word... More

Thank you for your comments and the fact that the hotel and food was good. We are sorry that your sleep was disturbed and for that we apologise. We have a side door for guests returning late at night to allow quiet access but unfortunately it is difficult to always ensure they abide by our requests to ensure all our... More

Only spent one night here, but will certainly go again! Owner a very pleasant man, and very helpful!! He took us to our venue when we were let down by the taxi firm, not far, but he didn't have to! Large car park.
