Only stayed for one night but it was a nice enough hotel with large rooms (double) and a good size bar and restaurant. The room was clean and the breakfast was huge and good quality. I felt it was a good price and if I had time I would have loved to have used the leisure facilities which looked very... more

The Hotel has been refurbished since most of the other feedbacks. Stayed one night, My room was clean and refurbished. The hotel was quiet and the staff were very friendly. The Bar and dinning room were also refurbished. I never had a meal in the Hotel, but the pub down the road served excellent bar meals. more

Having read several reviews about this hotel , I was very concerned as to what the Hotel was like, so I phoned and asked the receptionist- Ashley- and although I think she was thrown by someone asking her this question she completely put my mind at rest, assured me that we had a newly re- furbished room - which we... more

Four of us decided to eat there one Saturday night. 1. We wanted to have a bar meal, but the combination of very noisy TV and screaming kids sent us to the restaurant. 2. For the pre-dinner drinks the gin and tonics were flat with not a single bubble and the dry white wine spritzer had lemonade, not soda water.... more

Stayed on business, it was very good value, clean but dated, but that didnt matter, nice swimming pool e.t.c on site but this costs £6 extra. The restauarnt was pretty average and overpriced so i advise you go looking about the town for a nicer meal. Locatuion was spot on and the town was lovely to walk about in. The... more

We have just returned from a 2 day break at the Windlestrae Hotel. The hotel is like a time warp. I am in my mid-thirties and the decor of this hotel has never been fashionable during my conscious lifetime! The carpets downstairs are a blue floral pattern. The hotel bar looks like the day room of an old peoples home.... more

Spacious hotel set in peaceful surroundings. Food was ok with the exception of receiving stale sandwiches for a lunchtime snack. Staff were friendly and helpful but generally the hotel is tired and dated. It could do with an upgrade. Rooms were very large and quiet. Didn't have time to try the swimming pool but it look good from outside. All... more
