Great place to stay in Kirkwall. Very clean and quiet. Beds comfortable. Tucked away in a housing area but easy walk into town. Breakfast was excellent and host lovely, nothing a problem. Porridge made to perfection Highly recommend on a trip to Orkney.

The house doesn't look like a B&B until you drive up the long driveway to the parking area in the rear. Once we got there Tracey took great care of us. We had a new quiet room and the breakfasts were excellent. The restaurants in town were very busy but on our last night Tracey was able to get us a reservation at the Foveran, one of Kirkwall's best dining options.

Lovely family run b&b in a quiet street in Kirkwall, Orkney Isles. 3 rooms are available and plenty of space for everyone to park on their drive. The room was a nice size and very clean and really well looked after. The bathroom was big and the shower was great. Stacey was really helpful and very friendly. It's in a nice quiet street and close enough to town to walk in for supper or you can buy things from the nearby supermarkets. Ask Stacey for eating out recommendations when you arrive. Breakfast was great. You prebook what time and what you would like the night before and it was always ready on time and nice and hot and plenty of it. Kirkwall itself is nice and central for getting to the main sites.

Very pleasant b&b with a capable and welcoming owner - Stacey. Our room was comfortable with a huge walk-in shower. Breakfast was excellent especially the delicious yogurt & fruit granola. We had a slight problem with the heating for the first 24 hours but Stacey sorted it out and after that everything was fine. We would go there again if in the area.

Stayed at Castaways at the end of a cycle trip for five says. Found Stacey accommodating and obliging who offered advice and recommendations of where to go. I see some reviews say that information isn't provided about the area - to be honest - that's what the visitors centre is for as there is so much to do on the island's. Breakfast was scrummy. Pre ordered night before (as that's how you cook porridge....), Stacey got to know our foibles and dealt with my gluten free need. Room was comfortable and shower was great. Big piece of advice for anyone staying in Kirkwall. If you want to eat out book in advance as finding a table in local restaurants is challenges. Thanks for looking after us Stacey.

We stayed in the triple room which was plenty big enough for us and our teenager. The room was immaculate - very clean and well appointed (comfortable beds, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/shortbread, large shower in the en-suite, TV, toiletries etc). The owner was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was pre-ordered, with a slip filled in the night before. The breakfast room had cereals and fresh fruit available and the cooked breakfast was served to us. We had freshly brewed coffee, oatmeal porridge and full cooked breakfasts with poached eggs, which were cooked to perfection. All was of excellent quality. All in all, a great experience.

This is a wee gem in the heart of Kirkwall. I stayed here for one night after a dreadful experience at The Shore, and it was everything that I could’ve asked for. The location is really handy being less than a 10min walk from the main street, and the facilities are excellent. I was delighted with my room which was spotless and contained a large comfortable bed and en-suite with a heated towel rail and power shower. There were a nice array of teas on offer, including some lovely shortbread and yummy hot chocolate, which I enjoyed whilst watching a film on the flat screen TV; there were also good options for breakfast. Generally the whole experience was super-chilled and relaxing. Stacy was a brilliant and accommodating host and I felt well-looked after and taken care of. This is my go to place the next time I visit Kirkwall - I wouldn’t bother with anywhere else now I now what’s on offer here.

Not allowed to book in until after 4pm. Tired on arrival we were taken aback when the host told my husband to move our car to a different space. We were shown our room and asked to fill in a form to pre order breakfast. The room was a small double with 2 beds squeezed in ( a double and a single). I can only drink decaffeinated tea and coffee which was not available. 3 loose teabags, 4 coffee sachets, 4 milk sachets in room, no biscuits no water in room. As seasoned travelers we have found it to be standard practice decaffeinated sachets, bottled water and biscuits/cookies always in room. We nipped out after 6pm to the supermarket to buy some bottled water and decaffeinated coffee sachets so that I would be able to have something to drink. When we got back there was another car in our parking space and we had to park out on the main road. The information leaflet in the room states not to come looking for the host, if any problems phone the mobile number. I messaged twice and tried to phone without success. Normally in a guest house I would expect someone to be there. The shower which looked fab was actually awful, very poorwater pressure. One of the tumblers had a big chip in it. The walls were thin, heard every noise. Breakfast was cold, the black pudding was tasteless. Certainly not worth £100 per night.
