Just back from a week at the Lynnfield, what a place! We were delighted with the warm welcome received. Although it sits up the hill from Kirkwall its within easy walking distance but taxi's are readily available. The views on a good day are amazing! The Hotel itself is charming, lovely bar area & lounge. Our rooms were spotless, big... More

We stayed two nights at the Lynnfield and were very impressed with the room and the service a truly quality hotel with attention to detail. Food was good and the and well presented and staff attentive will definitely stay there again next time we visit Orkney. The room security was very good in that when the card was removed from... Good location overlooking Kirkwall and a great view at night. Hotel is run by friendly and very helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had booked for dinner on the first night of our stay and it was so good we dined there the second night. We have stayed at many hotels around the world and this hotel is... More

We had the Rammigeo room (front on the ground floor). It was HUGE with wonderful views of the entire town and the water. The restaurant is wonderful - lots of Scottish specialities - breakfasts were top notch. The staff was very friendly. Very clean everywhere. And the bar! Such variety in Scotch! It's about a 3/4-mile walk to the center... More

This small hotel is AMAZING! The food is fantastic and the bar is amazingly well stocked. Not on the menu, but when we asked if they had North Ronaldsday lamb... they served it and it has to be the best lamb I've ever tasted. BUT theres more - the selection of Scottish gins availble at the bar is impressive. In... More

Located near the Highland Park Distillery, the Lynnfield is one of the best hotels in Orkney and among the very best we've stayed at. Wonderfully spacious and comfortable rooms with luxury bathrooms en-suite. We've stayed in four of the ten rooms and all have been first class. Excellent breakfasts, and well worth dining there in the evening. It's best to... More

We stayed here for two nights in July 2015. It's a very nice hotel. I read the other reviews about the decor being like a retirement home and can't really understand why someone would think this. They've chosen an older style for sure (lots of whisky memorabilia) and the lounge is a bit over-decorated but overall it's really very nice.... More

We had such an amazing time at The Lynnfield hotel. I am used to European hotel rooms being tiny, so I tried to book two rooms. After some confusion, I ended up only being able to book one room, which she said was a two-room suite and that they would put up a "cot" for my son. I was a... More

The Lynnfield Hotel offered warmth and comfort, with a beautiful refurbished bathroom and a huge selection of white, fluffy towels. The bar might be a whisky-lover's paradise, with the assortment of brands available, but the dinner menu left something to be desired, with the same items on offer for each of our three nights there. Presentation and quality of food... More

Don't let the unremarkable exterior fool you--this is a lovely hotel. Very friendly proprietor and staff, fantastic food in the dining room. The walls of the large and comfortable lounge are packed with original local artwork, landscapes dating back to the 1920s. It was very foggy when we went, but you're right at the top of a hill so I'm... More
