In all respects this is a quality guest house. It is ideal for independent travellers being only a short walk from the bus station and the Orkney Ferries terminal to the other islands. The breakfasts are outstanding even for a day's outdoor activities. more

So glad we found this on Trip Advisor. John and Shirley are superb hosts, the rooms are spotless,the breakfasts amazing and the location very handy for the town centre. Before we came Shirley advised us about car hire and we got a great deal there too. Can't imagine anyone being disappointed at Ardvullen. more

We stayed 5 nights in June and could not wish for a nicer B&B. The room was smallish - but with an adequate en-suite and a comfortable bed. I agree with all the comments made by others about John and Shirley and their home. They love people and will do everything they can to make their guests comfortable. as well... more

Ardvullen is very well located for the centre of Kirkwall. Whilst the rooms are comparatively small, they represent very good value for money, and in terms of cleanliness and service could hardly be bettered. Stayed here for one night on my trip to the Orkneys. A good B&B with light airy rooms and TV. Close to the town centre. And they served a great breakfast! Highly recommend! more
