My stay was a pleasure from beginning to end. They have a knack for making you feel completely at home without ever intruding upon your privacy or compelling you to make polite chit-chat when you're in the mood to hibernate, or something. My room was lovely, warm and inviting, not to mention spotless. The only drawback is that the B&B... more

Returned yesterday from a three night stay at the Bellavista with a party of nine. We arranged to have sole use of the B&B and it was wonderful, much like having our own house but with staff to take care of us, make us superb breakfasts and clear up the sitting room in the morning! Angela and Patsy seem to... more

Wonderful warm welcome. Room could not be faulted, clean, tidy, well provisioned. Breakfasts, spoiled for choice, homemade produce excellent. TV lounge had fridge, microwave, crockery, cutlery, tea/coffee facilities. Loads of local information available. Hosts Patsy and Angela v.helpful - dried our wet coats, directed us to brilliant Indian Restaurant and were always pleasant and welcoming. Would recommend this to anyone,... more

This is a very well run guest house. Everything is clean, the rooms are comfortable and the owners extremely helpful. Our room was spotless and quiet so we had no complaints. There is also a comfortable lounge and even a PC for guests to use and also free Wi-Fi if you have a laptop. I would give the breakfast 4/5.... more

Our stay at Bellavista was reasonably good but was unfortunately rather spoilt by an uncomfortable bed which had springs visible on the surface - which stopped us having a good night of sleep during our stay - avoid room 4! Apart from that everything was good and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The location is about 15 minutes walk... more

Very friendly place, with fantastic service and an amazing breakfast. The only (slight) negative is that the location, whilst walkable from the town is the opposite side of the town from the new ferry terminal (itself about a mile out of town). However the taxis are very friendly and reasonable, and if you have a car it is easy to... more

This is a friendly and well run guest house, just a very short drive from Kirkwall - certainly walking distance for the more energetic holiday maker! Breakfasts are good. Rooms are very clean and have multi channel tvs. more

We recently spent 2 nights at the Bellavista. We booked with short notice and just got rooms as there was the annual Science Festival starting that week. We appreciated the friendly and prompt emails we received from Angela and Patsy. My husband, our 3 year old and I stayed in room 5 (a family room). It consisted of a decent... more

Friendly service, comfortable room and a welcoming guest's lounge make this a very good B&B to stay in. The breakfast is superb, freshly cooked at the time you request. Excellent choice of cold food including Orkney cheeses and home made jam. An easy drive in and out of Kirkwall, ideal for anyone who has a car with them during their... more

Stayed at the Bellavista during the rugby sevens and hockey tournament weekend. Accomodation, hospitality, food and atmosphere first class. Thoroughly enjoyed the view and the walks into town. Taxi service to and from the B&B when required was prompt, reliable and inexpensive with good humoured and helpful taxi drivers. Excellent service, accomodation and obliging proprietors-would thoroughly recommend this accomodation. more
